I am a little embarrassed to say that my Most Anticipated List for 2014 is fairly similar to my Most Anticipated List for 2013. Well what can you do? I make no excuses for my liking my favorite authors, I mean come on, they are pretty awesome! And then there is that ONE book that got pushed back again.
Without further ado, the list that has me looking forward to 2014….
Up From the Grave by Jeaniene Frost, January 28, 2104- Look people, for as much as I am anticipating it, I don’t even like to think about this book. The last Cat and Bones will be heartbreaking for me. They have always been my first PNR love and one of my favorite couples. I do not like to think of the series coming to a close. I am nervous about how it will be ended too. Ok, let’s just stop talking about it now.
Murder of Crows by Anne Bishop, March 4, 2014- I picked up Written in Red on a lark and was introduced to a whole new world, Anne Bishop. I really look forward to what will happen with The Others, Simon and Meg. Written in Red wasn’t a romance novel but the hint is there and I have no idea what will happen next.
Ball & Chain by Abigail Roux, March 15, 2014- In 2013, some of the best people ever introduced me to my now favorite romance couple, Ty and Zane. Touch & Geaux ended with my mouth gaping in fish-like form and I suspect I wasn’t alone in that. I can’t wait to see what happens in Ball & Chain, how our boys are and where they go next. Just a warning, don’t stand between me and this book. The result wouldn’t be pretty.
The King by J.R. Ward, March 25, 2014- BDB has been a meh series for me for several years now but Wrath has always been the one brother that I will reread several times a year. I cannot wait for this book. I have excitement for this series that I haven’t had in a long time with the upcoming release of this book.
It Happened One Wedding by Julie James, May 6, 2014- One of my favorite authors, Julie James never disappoints. Her love stories are some of the best out there and each book makes me sigh with utter happiness. This will be Vaughn’s book and he has been a very interesting character in previous books.
Sixth Grave on the Edge by Darynda Jones, May 20, 2014- The end to Fifth Grave was a doozie and I feel like I need (ok, want) this book yesterday. I wanted to see progress in Reyes and Charley’s relationship and I got it. Of course, now I just want more.
Burned by Karen Marie Moning, July 22, 2014- The ONE that got pushed back and the one that we speculated about over and over. KMM has said it could go one way or it could go another way or it could be this. At this point, I don’t care how it goes…I just want it to GO! The snippet of Mac and Barrons made me all squinty eyed and sweaty. I am not sure if I like where that is going.
Take by Ella Frank, Summer 2014- Try was Ella Frank’s m/m debut and wow-eee. We here at Fiction Vixen liked it very much. So we saw Logan and Tate develop their sexual relationship and now I would like to see the emotional side more in play. This is a three book series so that has to come sometime, right?
Magic Breaks by Ilona Andrews, August 5, 2014- Magic Rises was a tough one. Kate and Curran faced serious obstacles and had to work through issues that would have eventually bit them in the butt if not addressed. Hopefully, Magic Breaks won’t have those same issues but now we have Roland and Hugh. If those are large enough problems then I don’t know what are. That title makes me nervous too.
Brown-Eyed Girl by Lisa Kleypas, September 4, 2014- Fans have been begging Ms. Kleypas for Joe’s book so I was thrilled to hear we wouldn’t have to wait much longer. Lisa Kleypas is my favorite historical romance author but this contemporary series of hers is just as good.
Nalini Singh by Nalini Singh, Guild Hunter 7, Shield of Winter and according to the end of Archangel’s Legion the next of Raphael’s Seven will be in 2014 also (Aodhan, please?? Pretty please??). Nalini Singh is so good she gets her own line of multiple books. I think most people would agree with this statement.
Vlad 3 by Jeaniene Frost, 2014- Still as yet Untilted and that 2014 release date is very vague.
Untitled by Ilona Andrews, 2014- New by the Andrews? Yes, please.
So those are my eagerly anticipating books. What about you? Did I miss anything obvious?
