What To Read Wednesday is a weekly feature at Fiction Vixen. Each Wednesday one of the Fiction Vixen reviewers will post about a book they’ve recently read that they think you need to read too. This week, Sophia recommends:
Play With Me by Alisha Rai
The heroine is desperate to keep her brother out of jail for embezzlement and appeals to his boss who happens to be her former lover. They have a hot, steamy history together and their reunion proves to be even hotter.
What always appeals to me in Alisha Rai’s books is how she manages to mix in a little humor—sometimes obvious, sometimes a little more subtle—even in an erotic sex scene:
He tightened his grip on her. “Safe word.”
She responded to the urgency in his touch and voice. “Peanut.”
“Too close to penis. I might think you’re begging for more.”
But since Wyatt’s head was right at the level of her pussy, she couldn’t help but be a little self-conscious. Should she have waxed? Shaved? Added sparkly jewels? Maybe installed a music box?
Mostly this book was HOT. The hero is dominate and the heroine is up for any kind of game he wants to play.
There was no joy in dominating a weak female. But a strong, successful woman, an equal, who allowed him to push her to her knees? Yes. Hot.
If you’re looking for a quick, steamy read, you should check out Play With Me by Alisha Rai.
Here’s a snippet of Jen’s review which will be posted this Friday:
Play With Me is a fast and smoking hot read. Wyatt and Tatiana are dirty, dirty, dirty. Just the way I like it. 🙂 There is also a bit of a plot twist that I liked too. I won’t spoil it but I will say that the trope of long, lost loves is one of my favorites and this book does it well. It is always fun to watch a couple come back together and learn if they still have that special connection.
