Congratulations winners, email has been sent.

I tested out Rafflecopter for giveaways last week but I’m not completely sold on it.

What I liked about Rafflecopter:

  • Easy to set up
  • Can see all entrants easily and validate their entries
  • Can email winner directly from the website
  • You guys like it
  • Loved that entrants can tweet right from the widget about the contest

What I didn’t like about Rafflecopter:

  • It doesn’t display well on small mobile devices (doesn’t resize)
  • Seems to slow down some websites
  • Some people mentioned it doesn’t always load or doesn’t load at all.
  • The inability to change the look of the widget. (I’d like more flexibility)

I need to take a closer look at the problems and see if the benefits outweigh the problems or see if I can come up with a solution for the problems. For now, I don’t think we’ll be using Rafflecopter exclusively, but this may be a really good option for our bigger giveaways. Thank you all for your input and help in testing!

    Congrats to the winners!

I agree Sophia, sadly Rafflecopter is quite problematic with me, about 70% of the times it doesn’t load at all despite my refreshing the page. I agree that if it works the entries are easy and quick, but this problem that it slows down the displayed website and that most of the times it doesn’t load make me usually frustrated with it.

      Hi Stella,
I’m glad you and others have spoken up. While a lot of people really like it, I don’t like the idea that it’s not loading for some. I appreciate your input.

Glad to hear that I wasn’t the only one with issues using rafflecopter. I ended up removing it completely for a giveaway because it messed with my page’s rss feed. It seems to work okay on Facebook though.
