This weeks spotlight is on bookshelves and bookcases. I browse Etsy often and I’m always most intrigued by things that used to be other things because I rarely look at something and think it would make a great something else. I admire people who can do that. This week, we’ll take a look at book cases and shelves that might have been converted or the artist took inspiration from an object to create an interesting way to store books.
I find myself liking the rustic look more and more these days. Here is California we’re all about reduce/reuse/recycle and this bookshelf is a great example of how that can be done. That is of course, assuming this was ever really a ladder and then converted into a bookshelf LOL. Still, this is a great idea.
Here is another one. I like how this has been grouped in the corner.
I’m not a big fan of the nautical look but I am a fan of mixing wine and books. 🙂 Do I need to create a room themed around this bookshelf?
This has me wondering how hard it would be to convert an old dresser into and interesting bookcase. It can’t be that hard right? That’s pretty much what I say every time I start a project that makes my husband want to kill me.
Have you ever created a bookcase or bookshelf from something unusual?
