Catherine is at it again, hunting down the covers on upcoming romance releases!

River Road by Suzanne Johnson is the second book in the Sentinels of New Orleans series. The blurb makes the series sound interesting. I like the thought of the author integrating Hurricane Katrina into the paranormal world.
*****

A lot of controversy surrounded the first book in the Phoenix Rising series, Fever, so I’m curious to hear what people think of this second entry, Blaze, by Joan Swan.
*****

The guy on the cover of Revelation is an extreme turn off for me, but the blurb has me interested. Zombies? Angels? The upcoming end of the world? All right, Erica Hayes you’ve captured my interest.
*****

Bleeding Out by Jes Battis is a relatively last minute cover reveal, given that it releases at the end of May, but better late than never, huh? This is the fifth book in the OSI series. I read the fourth book, Infernal Affairs, last year and was impressed by the likable heroine and the humor in the book.
*****

My Lady Rival is the first book in Ashley March’s new Belgrave Square Affair series. It looks like this book will feature a middle class hero and heroine, which sounds like a fun change from the usual nobility-centric storyline.
*****

Well, it looks like Darynda Jones is trying her hand at YA with Death and the Girl Next Door. So here’s the real question: Will FV reviewer Jen, lover of all things Charley Davidson, follow this author over into YA?
*****

Lady Amelia’s Mess and a Half is the second book in Samantha Grace’s Beau Monde series. It looks like this one will feature a second-chance-romance couple.
*****

I’m out of the loop on this one. I have never heard of Jeanne C. Stein before but her upcoming book, Haunted, is the eighth book in her Anna Strong Chronicles series. Any fans of this series out there?
*****

Heaven and Hellsbane by Paige Cuccaro is the second book in the Hellsbane series. I assumed this was YA but further investigation tells me it’s not. Although, I did see on a friend’s review of the first book that the book had a very YA feel to it…
*****
Heart of the Demon by Cynthia Garner features a fey heroine. You know what I’ve noticed? There don’t seem to be many fey PNRs. They’re common as side characters, but not really as heroes or heroines. Why is that?
I read the first few Anna Strong books. They were good, can’t seem to remember why I haven’t caught up with the series!
I am super excited for the Cynthia Garner and Suzanne Johnson books. Must go hunt down Hayes… I love that cover!
How far did you get in the series?
I’m not a YA reader, but I think I will follow Darynda…at least for the first one, to see how I like it. She makes me laugh so much, I can do w/out the romance from her. Not sure I’m going to like a lot of smexing up in an YA book, though…one of the reasons I stay away! LOL, I have a 19 yr. old…some things I just don’t want to KNOW!
LOL! Good point. Sometimes it’s best to not think about it.
I’m sure it’s just me (cuz I’m weird) but Revelation makes me think, “I’m…*smoldering look*…too sexy for this sword, too sexy for Milan….”
*giggle*snort*giggle*
LOL!
The Revelation cover is off putting. It’s the pose, the midriff baring top with leather pants, the glowing sword. Just on cover alone wouldn’t pick it up.
I love the Darynda Jones’ Charley Davidson series. Not a fan of YA and will most likely skip it.
I agree. It’s really off putting. I’m interested in the storyline but the cover has me cringing away from it.
I love the Royal Street series and this was my wow last Weds, Lovely picks …cannot wait!
Glad you enjoyed them.
Two Paul Marron covers? Yum!
lol. He seems to have a lot of fans.
I just got the first book in the Sentinals of New Orleans for review a couple of weeks ago! I’m LOVING the covers on these books! And the story sounds fun!
I hope they’re good!
I can’t wait for Ashley March’s new book. And Lady Amelia’s mess has one great cover!
I like March’s cover. The colors work well together.
Bad photoshop case for Darynda’s YA novel cover
. Now what? I think when author start writing YA, I curious its just to got much money rather than when they write adult books. Am I wrong?
YA definitely seems to be the new ‘it’ thing lately. A lot of adult novel writers seem to be jumping over to that genre. I’m not sure if it’s because they have a burning desire to write YA or because they’re trying to keep up with the current trend.
I’m going to check out the Darynda Jones, I’m a fan too; Cynthia Garner’s book seems good, so does Blaze from Joan Swan.
I hope you enjoy them all if you read them.
This is me grumbling and groaning. Doubtful. The parts I love best are the sexy scenes between Charley and Reyes. I just won’t get those with YA.
Hopefully she’s not making the jump all the way into the YA genre. Then you’d have the possibility of her publishing more adult books, too.
Charley and Reyes are nowhere near done so she better not make that full jump. I just might whine a whole lot about that!
lol
