Upcoming Releases and Covers, Covers, Covers!

A Hunger So Wild

A Hunger So Wild by Sylvia Day is the second book in the Renegade Angels series.  I read, and liked, the first book in the series, A Touch of Crimson, so I’m looking forward to checking out this one out in July.

Bear Meets Girl

This cover has been around for a while, but I wanted to post it anyway.  I really, really enjoy Shelly Laurenston’s humor, so I can’t wait to get my hands on Bear Meets Girl.  I am not especially looking forward to this particular couple, but I’m confident that the author can win me over.  Come on, March!

Devil's Punch

Devil’s Punch by Ann Aguirre, the fourth book in the Corine Solomon series, will be released in April.  I haven’t read this series before, but I enjoyed the Dark Age Dawning series by Ellen Connor, so I’m curious to see how much of that voice was this author’s influence.  Any readers of those series have any input on that?

Fire Kissed

Fire Kissed by Erin Kellison will released in July.  I was semi-recently gifted with the first three books in this series, so I imagine that I will eventually work my way around to this one.

A Night Like This

I think it’s fun that Julia Quinn decided to base a series around the Smythe-Smiths from her Bridgertons series.  A Night Like This, the second book in the series, will be released in May.

God Save the Queen

God Save The Queen looks like such a fun new series!  The British aristocracy are supernatural creatures and leeches are delicacies?  Interesting!  But this looks like a debut book for Kate Locke, so I’m pretty surprised that it’s coming out as a hardcover first.  You all can expect it in July.

Geared For Pleasure

I’m starting to think I’m a sucker for the barest hint of Steampunk.  Give me a title like Geared For Pleasure and I perk right up.  Soulless, you’ve started me on a dark path. 😉  You can expect this release from Rachel Grace in March.

I like this cover.  It looks flirty and fun, which I’m sure was its intention.  I’m not a Lauren Dane reader, myself, but I know a lot of you are.  You can look forward to Tart in November.

Visions of Chains

I like how casual the model on Visions of Chains looks.  She’s just chillaxin’ in her jeans and tank top.  No leather and awkward pose required for her.  Any fans of this series out there?  This latest offering from Regan Hastings will be released in June.

The Proposal

Mary Balogh is starting a new series!  The Proposal is the first book in the Survivors’ Club series.  It has been a while since I read a new book by this author, so I’ll probably try to track down a copy of this book when it’s released in May.

The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires

Sophia, do you see this?  Another Molly Harper book for you to devour!  The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires releases in July and looks to be fun.  I like the thought of the heroine having a job that shows her the less glamorous side of vampire life.

Shadows Before The Sun

My, my, my.  What an interesting sword you have.  Is that electricity?  The cover model on Shadows Before The Sun looks kind of young (is the main character young?), but I’m digging the color tone.  Have any of you read this Kelly Gay series?  I own the first book but haven’t read it yet.  Is the series good?  Should I bump it up in my queue?

This is the first I’ve seen of the cover for Shadows Before the Sun. I like it! Very eye catching! Though the main character is a single mom, I think in her thirties, so not as young as the cover model makes her look.

It’s not my favorite urban fantasy series, but I’ve definitely enjoyed the books. They’re entertaining and different. Plus, there’s a very cute, steamy romantic subplot 😉

I love Kelly Gay’s Charlie Madigan series. The heroine is a grown ass woman who divorced her husband and is mother to an adolescent daughter. I want this book sooo bad. The last book ended at an OMG place, not quite a cliffhanger, but pretty darn close. It’s definitely a must read series for UF fans.

The cover for Tart is too cute.

That Geared for Pleasure cover is smokin’. I’m not a fan of steampunk, but whew the heat coming off that book…

Interesting about the Charlie Madigan series. Having a minime doesn’t seem like the easiest thing to manage when you’re supposed to be saving the world. I’m getting curious to see what I think of it.

Oh, I do love a good Mary Balogh! I like to think of them as “cozy romances,” especially her older ones. Not a whole lot of drama or steam, but some great books nonetheless. Thanks for the heads-up! :)

I’ve read the Corine Solomon series and like them. It’s not my favourite series, but it’s good and different. Her take on supernatural is pretty unique, and the plots are strange in a good way. I like that they aren’t rooted in one city like so many other UF series. The books aren’t as steamy as the author’s other works, but that’s a good thing for UF, in my opinion. However, the romantic subplots don’t really work for me at all.

I’m adding the Kelly Gay books to my TBR. I love the idea of a divorced UF heroine with a kid (as opposed to rather common ‘random orphan who showed up at my door step but I’m not really responsible for and only worry about when it’s convenient for the plot’ trope).

Ah, yes, I’m familiar with the convenient orphan character. Having a kid 24/7 is a whole different gig. That would be a lot harder to deal with when you’ve got to go kick some ass at a moment’s notice.

I’m disappointed to hear about the less than amazing romance subplots in the Corine Solomon series. I’d rather it be skipped entirely in a UF than choke in the delivery.

Ooo! I didn’t know that Molly Harper was publishing a book outside of her Jane Jameson series this year! That’s very exciting!!!

Pink shoes for blue dress at Julia Quinn’s book cover? O.O
I’m not fashion police, but I found it weird, LOL!

I’m into Geared for Pleasure too 😀

You sure picked out some great covers and books. None of those are on my have to have list, or autobuy authors, but who knows, if I love the reviews on those. Thanks for the update, I really like posts like those.

I am loving the covers for “A Hunger So Wild” & “A Night Like This”! The Quinn cover is such a vibrant blue & the Day one? It’s minimal but something about the way those jeans hug the cover model makes me go “ROAWR!”

On to the bad. “God Save the Queen”. Yeah…FAIL. And “Bear Meets Girl”? It isn’t bad per say, but the hero looks creepy as hells. I wouldn’t want have imaginary sex with him.
