School will be starting soon and I’m in a rush to get doctors and dentist appointments made, do school clothes shopping, buy supplies, and take out a second mortgage to pay for my children’s free education /sarcasm. So, that means I’m terribly short on time lately. Usually I break up my books into groups of three and give them away to multiple winners. But that means sorting, packaging, weighing, blah, blah, blah. I whimpered a little bit when I tried to think of when I’ll have time for all that. Then I spied my supply of Priority Flat Rate boxes and the light blub went on.
So this month, I’m tossing all my bookshelf breaking books into a box and there will be one big winner.
Up for offer, 17 books listed above. All are new finished copies. To enter just leave me a comment. Make me laugh. Or smile. Or blink…whatever.
Open to: US residents only this time. I’m sorry about that, but I checked and the postage is pretty steep for the size of box I need to ship. It kills me to exclude anyone and I try to open up as many giveaways to international entries as I can. I hope you’ll forgive me this time.
You have until end of day August 17 to enter, winner will be announced soon after.
Giveaway sponsored by: FVBR
No purchase necessary to win. You must be 18 or over to enter, void where prohibited. The number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning. FVBR is not being compensated for this giveaway. If the winner declines to accept or fails to claim their prize within 72 hours of the announcement, they forfeit their prize(s). Prize distribution is the sole responsibility of the giveaway sponsor. Fiction Vixen Book Reviews will not be held responsible for lost or misdirected prizes or for circumstances beyond our control. You’re my llama princess.

I am in desperate need of new books. The second mortgage for my kids free education did leave any money left to buy books. Thanks for the giveaway
Jay
Hi
Thanks for the great giveaway. In honor of your kids going to school here is a school joke:
“A teacher saw one of his students asleep in the class. He asked another student to wake him up. The other student said: Sir, you put him to sleep, so you better wake him up”.
Thanks for the chance
Pam
LOL Thanks for the LOL Pam!
My kids started school last week. If only that meant I now had all this free time to just read! Work never ceases.
All but one in that box would be a new title for me, so I’d love to win
There’s never enough reading time
Would love to win and restock my TBR pile!
Thanks for the giveaway.
Too much pressure! I can’t think of anything funny or entertaining to share. But I would love to win! Thanks for the chance.
Thanks for the great giveaway.
Please enter me, as always thanks for the great giveaways!!
Roses are red,

LOL Jen
I can’t think of anything funny. Thanks for the great giveaway. marlenebreakfield(at)yahoo(dot)com
That box would completely obliterate the few precious inches I’ve managed to eek out of my “unread” bookcase.
Guess it’s just a risk I’ll have to take.
Im stuck at home with a newborn! Please send book reinforcements!
Oh course we understand that’s a lot of books and there were 2 or 3 that really interested me so winning such a box would have been wonderful but i’m also logic and knew it was too good to be true and thus only for US
don’t worry thank you a lot for all the others giveaway that include us
*blink* *blink*
Oooh, have you seen the TV show White Collar?? Matt Bomer is super sexy!!! I don’t care if he’s gay, he’s delicious to my eyes lol.
Hi sorry i don’t have much to laugh about lately but if i win these books for me and my grandaughter boy i would smile for a year. We have had alot of family deaths and my grandaughter father just found out he has Cancer and she reads 3to 4 books a day and i have been saving my money to get her a reader or laptop she has earned it cause she got tested and reads in the 12,9 level in the 8th grade. i have bought her books for years never denying her but now i am disabled and can’t buy as many as before. This would be a big help. Plus we donate them to the boys and girls club and the library here when we get finished. We live in Rural Ga. and believe me the Local library is not that great. thanks Joannie jscddmj [at] aol[dot]com
I’m breaking my Internet hiatus just to enter for a chance to win all these awesome books!
Honestly I think I’d need a second and third mortgage just to keep up with my reading habit, my kids are on their own for school
Teehee, if only I could really get away with that
Good luck to everyone!
Shroudedheart(at)hotmail(dot)com
Yes but it’s a worthwhile habit to have. Reading is awesome!
Holy crud! That is an amazing giveaway, it is a whole bookshelf worth of new books! *drool*

Wow. How can you give em up?? My mouth is watering!!! All my kids have grown up, they.have to do all the running around getting shots, clothes, etc. for my grandkids. I would love to sit on my porch in my rocking chair sipping iced tea and reading some of these books. Don’t be jealous — I earned it.
. Thanks for the giveaway. trishleroy49 at gmail dot com
So jealous, but congrats!!
Well, I’d just love to help you declutter your bookshelves. What can I say? I’m just a giver (taker).
That made me lol
Holy wow! Honestly, I don’t know how you manage to just put books in a box and ship them off into the unknown. I think I’d cry just contemplating something like that. If you have too many, we could always play book dominoes
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw5LlSKKG3M I’d hate to pick those up afterwards. Thanks for the generous giveaway!
msromanticreads at gmail dot com
That was awesome!
There was a sweet Vixen, Sophia.
Whose love of books was something to see-a!
So many had she
Her bookshelf said “Gee,
Mailing some to blog friends will help me…Ah!”
Thanks so much for your generosity!
You just made Sophia rhyme with see. LOL
If I won 17 new-to-me books, I would be (slightly) less likely to buy new books that my library does not have yet. Also, it would give me an excuse to buy this new bookshelf that I want (but really have absolutely no place to put). Thanks for the giveaway!
WOW!! I would love to win this box of books, it would be like Christmas come early
This would keep me busy for a few day, lol. Thanks so much for the chance.
What a giveaway! Please enter me, though goodness knows where I’ll put them all! Good luck on back to school!

ayancey(at)dishmail(dot)net
This is so fab of you to offer! And mailing really is so expensive! My brain is a bit fried right now – I just drove 8 hrs back from a baby shower for my niece-in-law – I’m going to be great-aunt, but as I say I’ve been a “great” aunt for years to my nephews & niece (lol).
Just started a 6pm to 6am shift at my new job… need books to keep me awake. Would LOVE to win!
I highly recommend you watch the Staples commercial with the Dad dancing around to the song It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. So funny for back to school!
Thanks for a awesome contest! Crossing my fingers!
I can’t think of anything funny. Ha! Ha!
But I’d love to win this huge box of books.
Cindy

(I hope it works)
Enter me!! I haven’t purchased much this month thanks to the lovely back to school fees, etc. – so it would be a welcome month to win! Win or lose, thank you for the contest!
I loved it. So many great videos!! LOL
free education…for my older 2 kids it meant spending $650 on books and $500 for school fees, yearbooks etc
for my younger one it was $600 for bus fees, books etc
and i have yet to buy shoes, jeans, etc
i feel your pain!
Yeah, it’s crazy. Free has never been so expensive!!!
Hope I win with this silly joke:
A man in a movie theater notices what looks like a llama sitting next to him.
“Are you a llama?” asked the man, surprised.
“Yes.”
“What are you doing at the movies?”
The llama replied, “Well, I liked the book.”
(bah-dum-cha!)
LOL I liked how you worked a llama in there. Extra points!
Oh Please Please Enter me for the giveaway. I would love to read those books. College start fees have hit me.
I hope this makes you laugh. Soooo, I was at AAD over the weekend, and I witnessed some idiot asking Laurie London if she was from London, and the idiot turned out to be me.
True Story. Unfortunately.
Please enter me.

Today was my first day back to work at my elementary school library, a week before teachers and two weeks before kids! Today is also my self-imposed back to reading kids’ books. Sophia, I just stopped by to say that I think it’s beautifully kind & generous for you to offer up such a yummy, fat collection of books!! <3
And please DON'T enter me, as I think there's some sweet commenters above who really could use/deserve this way more than me …. MY kids are grown (thank God!! I remember the hideous expenses at the start of the school year, PLUS we also had two August birthdays to toss into the mix!) lol
Good luck, everybody!
Well thank you for stopping by. xoxo
It sounds like some great books. Thanks for a great giveway. I would love to win. My son’s football is killing my book buying money but it’s so worth it. He’s 8yrs old & it’s his first year to play. It’s so funny watching & they are so cute.
Wow! Thanks for the giant giveaway!
What a delicious giant bunch of fantastic books. You’re so generous and I appreciate the chance to win them so much!
There you go again being awesome and sharing books! Some cute stuff posted already.
I am going to share my night with you, if only to share my misery. Typical Monday night, kids are crabby from being back at daycare, dirty. We made it through supper (yay!) and now onto bath time. The three of them are sending waves of water over the tub, trying to eat soap, and dumping water on each others heads. I finally get them clean, last one diapered and dressed for bed. I look in the tub to take the toys out now the water has drained…and there is poop in the tub.
Poop. A few little soggy piles here and there. So I crack out the bleach wipes, clean all the toys, level 5 disinfect the tub (because hey, I still want to shower tonight), and lastly (thankfuly I have rubber gloves on) reach into the drain and pull out a lump of poop just in time for my husband to walk in. In true Caddyshak fashion he says “It’s not that bad.” to which I shoot daggers at him with my eyes.
Some day I might tell this story to my kids and laugh….just not quite yet.
Off to shower. Got any rubber booties?
OH WOW!!! What an awesome and huge giveaway! Thank you!!!!
So for fun… how about this: Dog in the Water Park
or: Slow Learnng Dog
I’m a dog lover… if you can’t tell
Thanks for the chance! Im completely blanking on funny things right now so Im just going to go with have a great week!!

Thanks for the giveaway. All these books sound good.
Hi!
I just spent about $400 on textbooks for my son — a college senior — for his Fall semester. That doesn’t leave any money for me to buy anything for myself, particularly since I’ve been out of work for a while now. I’d love some new books to read to take my mind off my financial situation — even one book would be great! Thanks for your generosity. I think it’s great that you do so much to encourage people to read new authors and new works by old favorites.
so jealous.. wish i live in US..
would love the chance to win!
I love this time of year, my family practice clinic is busy with excited (well)children here for sports and school physicals. So much fun to interact with a healthy child!!! And, because I read YA and children’s books also, I can actually hold a conversation with them about their reading choices.
My TBR shelf is also fairly empty, Your box of books looks like heaven. Thanks for the chance.!
YES PLEASE!!! ; )
Awesome box of books. This would be a great birthday present for me. Thanks for the giveaway.

Your only on a second mortgage? I would have to take out a third by the time you add in all hair dye to cover up all the grey hair my oldest daughter gives me. She’ll be a freshman this year so it is only going to get worse! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much!
I think that box full of books would look great in my house!!
Thanks for the giveaway!
My kids don’t go back til Sept. 4th. I need a reward for the extra long summer.
You are full of awesome! Like, spilling over with it, you’re so awesome. You should probably get a mop for that…
Here is a couple of fun facts for you ~
When George Lucas was mixing the American Graffiti soundtrack, he numbered the reels of film starting with an R and numbered the dialog starting with a D. Sound designer Walter Murch asked George for Reel 2, Dialog 2 by saying “R2D2″. George liked the way that sounded so much he integrated that into another project he was working on.
And…
In Natoma, Kansas, it’s illegal to throw knives at men wearing striped suits. Which is a good thing I found that out before I went there this weekend. Throwing knives and men in striped suits is a hpbby of mine.
Thanks for the contest!

Well, I’ve tried to think of something funny but for the life in me I’ve come up with nada-thing. I’ve got to say you are always SO very generous with your giveaways hon! This one is definitely a huge one I’d love a chance to win. Thank you for all you do for us readers! I hope you get everything done that you need to.
Ok, here goes…… I think that Sophia is the most fabulous, beautiful, phenomenal name in the entire world! In fact, with the name Sophia you must be utterly beautiful…..like a goddess….or an angel! I bet that men literally fall to the ground, like dead fruit falling from a tree, because of your beauty. You probably carry a big stick to beat them away with because no one is worthy…..LOL!! Am I right?!? Did you laugh??? Do I win??? Seriously though, thank you for the awesome giveaway! Good luck to everyone!!!

Knock Knock
Who’s There?
Broccoli
Broccoli Who?
Broccoli doesn’t have a last name, silly.
something funny????? i have a joke i can tell you. its a funny but so messed up @ the same time……
a little girl is sitting and playing / her daddy.
she asks her daddy, ” i want a baby sister, can you get me one?”
daddy tells her, “honey you have a baby sister, it’s just that when you run in the front door, she runs out the back door so you dont see her”
little girl thinks, she says, “oh you mean like my other daddy?”
this is a funny joke but boy its messed up. LOL
i love reading. its helped me through some tough times when i couldnt get out of the house and was bed ridden for so long. i treasure every book i receive and if i were to win these books they would definitely be treasured. thanks and good luck to everyone!
Well I don’t have anything funny to say as I am right there with you. Not sure what age your kids are but my oldest is now 16, ugh. She goes to the technical training school for animal science. It’s a public school but they decided to go to uniforms this year. Which would be great if I hadn’t just 10 months ago when she transferred to the school, bought her a whole bunch of scrubs. Plus when they are not in scrubs she is to wear pants called dickies. Now I don’t know about you but when I was growing up dickies were the necks of like a turtle neck shirt you could wear under another shirt. So now I have to search the Internet to find out what Dickie pants are. I’m worried as I’m not sure what the search will bring up and when my 9 yr old daughter will pop up to see what I’m doing. I managed to search with no inappropriate picture for young eyes popping up. These pants are $30 each, ugh. Totally breaking the mom bank this year.
Thanks for the giveaway!

i could always use more books. i love finding new authors! and i dont think i’ve read any of these authors.
pick me!
Okay so I was born on December 25, 1979….. Yep Christmas. I only get to celebrate once a year unlike everyone else who has a birthday in between. Dont get me wrong I love that my birthday is on such a special day but when everyone else is talking about Christmas in July I am thinking about celebrating a birthday in July/Aug. All my friends tend to combine my birthdaychristmas gift together lol. I tease them saying I am going to start doing it to them. Getting a box full of books would be a great birthday in August present
I would be like a kid at Christmas !!!!!
I would love to win these. There are several authors I have not read and would like to try. Thanks for having great giveaways!
I would love to win these books. Anything to stop my husband from lectuirng me about spending too much $ on them.
I am going to tell you a sob story (sadly, it’s all true). This year I have had to replace 2 computers (due to death not desire). I had to replace a car (due to death of a transmission not desire). I had my front yard dug up because we thought we had a problem with our main drain (we didn’t, it was the county pipe in the street that was broken). And this week I found out that I transposed a number on our taxes so we owed money. Now we owe money plus interest and penaties. And it turns out we should have paid estimated taxes this year because of the error I made. I am sooooooo broke. I even had to give up my monthly book budget. So Sad! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Wiener.
Thanks for the giveaway!!! Its hard to beleive its time for school to start.
Fun giveaway! I’ll keep my fingers crossed… instead of my eyes…
Wow! What a (potential) haul! I don’t have kids, but I am a teacher and start back this week. Budget cuts are fantastic, and these books would be so welcome after my brain stops functioning from reading the essays of my 35 darlings. I have 6 classes of 35 darlings. That’s 210 essays every time I assign one. But I still want to read for pleasure, can you believe it?
a little car full of clowns … what it always makes me laugh
meandi09@yahoo.com
I have packed away most of my books bc the house is getting painted/new flooring. I’m already stressing over putting them away (I’m a bit OCD and need them alphabetized) so, of course, the best way to de-stress is more books!
I can’t think of anything specifically funny, but every week I get a laugh at author Jess Haines’ blog, where she posts Friday Funnies.
That box of books is so tempting looking. Thanks!
A couple of weeks ago I was at the gym and I saw an airman wearing a yoda backpack. It was hanging on him like it does on Luke in return of the Jedi. I was trying not to laugh at 18-19 year old guy.
