SONNETS FOR SINNERS: Everything One Needs to Know About Illicit Love

A poetic exploration of infidelity over the ages, with 45 poems analysed by a man whose business is assessing human foibles.

When I was asked to review a copy of Sonnets for Sinners I really wasn’t sure what to expect.  Obviously I expected poetry but I had no idea I’d be reading a range of entries from Shakespeare to Princess Diana and Tiger Woods. Sonnets For Sinners takes the reader on a lover’s guide through Attractions, Fevers, Lamentations, Farewells, Endings and Epiphanies.

As I read through the sonnets, I of course had my own thoughts on each one, however it was Mr. Wareman’s commentary that really struck gold with me.  His perspective is witty, insightful and more than once I found myself grinning.  I see it as sort of a self help book for those involved in or considering an “illicit affair”.  Even if poetry is not your thing, you should consider checking out Sonnets for Sinners with it’s unique take on the some old classics and modern day text messages and emails.
