Some of you have probably heard how stressful things get for an author when they are getting ready for a new release. Shiloh Walker’s latest book STOLEN is due out… and, well. She didn’t handle the stress well this time. She went on a crime spree*…she hit fellow authors Thea Harrison, Vivian Arend, Larissa Ione, Carolyn Crane and Devon Monk. She held them up and swiped secrets and goodies. She keeps the secrets, but you get the goodies. Well, maybe a few secrets will slip out.
*This is all very tongue in cheek. Shiloh didn’t really snap. Well. Maybe she did. But no theft, larceny or other illegal activities were involved. No authors were harmed. Even though she’s still trying to figure out how to steal a couple of characters.
Continuing on my life of crime…if you want to catch up with where I’ve been, please visit my site.
Today, I have goodies and secrets from author Carolyn Crane.
After I swiped my prize and assorted secrets from Carolyn, I made her answer some questions…I’m keeping my secrets, but here are a few for you all. And Carolyn is screaming at me in the background while I do this…I never promised I’d keep this stuff quiet. Sheesh.
Q: What would make an enticing target for your characters to steal?
A: Most of my characters would want to steal my heroine’s computer – it has a virus that brings images to life. (You all should have seen the look on her face as she told me this.)
Q: Name one of your characters you wouldn’t steal from…ever.
A: Sir Kendall – because he’s a super spy. He finds out everything. (Okay, now she is smirking at me. I think she thinks I’m going into hiding or something…um, guys, if anything happens to me…Sir Kendall did it.)
Now…because I couldn’t keep my hands off her computer, I poked around a bit and found this snippet from MR. REAL…
He let the pause grow; he could feel her nervous arousal mounting.
When a woman came to him in silk, he liked to put her in leather, and when she came to him in leather, he liked to put her in silk, and when she came to him like this, nervous and kinetic, he forced her to be still.
Slowly, then, he slid the sweater off over her arms, let it fall to the floor. She broke her stillness to give him a saucy look. He regarded her sternly and she dropped the humorous face.
Good lord, could the woman not act serious for one instant? Jeans, now. He watched her eyes, let her feel his fingers around the snaps, one, two, three…
If you want more, you’ll have to either win it…or, well, buy it. Cuz only one of you can win it.
