Hi Everyone –

Lisa Kessler here!  Happy New Year! I’m so excited about my new book, BEG ME TO SLAY!

Here’s the Blurb:

He’ll slay her demons, but it may cost her heart…Beg Me To Stay

Four years ago Tegan Ashton was attacked. Determined never to be a victim again, she devotes her life to martial arts and self-defense. When her assailant returns to finish what he started, only one person can help her.

Gabe is a private investigator by day and demon slayer by night. After losing loved ones, he vows to defend people from a threat they don’t realize exists.

The relationship is supposed to be strictly business, but fighting demons together stirs up emotions they never expected. Turns out demon slaying is a breeze compared to facing their scarred pasts and even worse – hearts.

I’m a HUGE fan of paranormal TV shows, specifically ANGEL, and when I started writing this book, I decided to set it on the west coast too, but instead of Los Angeles, Tegan owns a karate dojo in Leucadia, up in the Northern part of San Diego County, and it was fun to layer in the beach town flavor into a demon slayer story.

Throughout the book you’ll travel through San Diego County from the Belly-Up bar in Solana Beach to the Gaslamp district downtown, and a few other places in between!

I’ve given you two scavenger hunt answers here… To find more answer for the Rafflecopter entries, and an excerpt from BEG ME TO SLAY, please hop on over to my website

And here’s Jill Sorenson with her brand new release BADLANDS…

Thanks Lisa!! BEG ME TO SLAY sounds awesome. I’ve been to the Belly-Up and the Gaslamp District. It’s so fun to read about places I recognize.

BADLANDS takes us off the beaten track, to lesser-known and seldom-visited areas of San Diego County, deep in the Anza-Borrego Desert.

Blurb:

BadlandsLove is the most dangerous territory of all.

Every day, bodyguard Owen Jackson puts his life on the line—and keeps his feelings for Penny Sandoval locked away. Assigned to protect Penny’s father, a presidential candidate, Owen can’t get emotionally involved. That is, until Penny and her young son, Cruz, are abducted and taken deep into the California badlands.

Owen knows the bleak territory from his childhood. Worse, he knows the gang leader making ransom demands—his own brother, Shane. When a terrified Penny escapes into the desert with Cruz, Owen has to save her: from the elements and from the gang in close pursuit. Owen has hidden the darkness in his past from Penny. Now his only chance of keeping her alive is to let her see the man he really is—even if it means losing the only woman he’ll ever want.

I love remote getaways and harsh settings, in romantic suspense and real life. You can check out my blog for personal photos of the Arroyo Tapiado mud caves, the Goat Canyon Trestle, and the Salton Sea. Thanks for reading!

      Hi Megan,

I’m not sure if this question is for me but I usually feel kind of sad or empty when I finish a book. Not sure why that is! I’m happier in the beginning. Love to research and start new projects.

      Great question Megan!

It depends for me… There is a HUGE rush to finally reach the end and I know I’ll have to go through and edit it and read it a few more times by the time the book is published so it’s not usually sad.

However! I just finished writing the final book in my Night Series last night and YOW that was a hard book for me to write because I knew I was saying goodbye to all of them so I was very sad and also felt the pressure of wanting to wrap everything up for all the characters… Shew! I had no idea it would be such an emotional book for me.

So last night I cried while writing that final chapter and then I partied after the book was done! Bittersweet!

      Happy New Year!

      Lisa :)

New Year’s resolution: have more patience with my kids (which I am epically failing at already and the new year has just started…arghhh!!!). Congrats on your new releases and thanks for the fun giveaway – I love the scavenger hunt idea!

Great giveaway. My 2014 resolution is to get my shit together and have less.

    Less unread books.
    Less stuff.

    Less me.

Loved Lisa’s Book but after reading the expert and looking at Jill’s books they look scrumptious.
