Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Who doesn’t love a little erotic Christmas romance? KT Grant’s, The Christmas Fantasy is a sexy, fun Christmas treat. But if you’re all Christmas’d out, don’t worry this novella is a fun read any time of year.
Mandy has decided it’s high time she lost her virginity. She’s twenty-nine years old and has a goal of being properly deflowered by her thirtieth birthday. After recently losing a great deal of weight, Mandy is still coming to terms with her new body and insecurities from years of being overweight.
Mandy has known Jackson, the uber-sexy firefighter for years. She sets out to seduce him and gets much more than she bargained for. Not only is he easy on the eyes but he appreciates Mandy for all she is, and not just because she has a sexy new look. He loves her self-perceived physical flaws along with everything else about her. Once he realizes he is in love with her he is determined to capture her heart.
It’s refreshing to read about a heroine that is less than physically perfect and one that suffers from the self-doubts that affect so many women. Let’s face it, erotic romance is about fantasy so creating characters that are too real can be risky business for an erotic romance author. KT Grant captures those insecurities and infuses a bit of realism into this erotic fantasy without killing the erotic mood of the story.
One can certainly understand Mandy’s fears since she is seducing a red-hot firefighter who no doubt could have his choice of women. But he only has eyes for Mandy and is determined to put her fears to rest and in the process show her just how sexy he finds her. He was certainly a sexy hero and possessed all the obvious qualities a romance hero should have, but for me he was just that; everything I expected. While Jackson was sexy and his actions toward Mandy were admirable, he was an average hero and I would have liked to have seen his character more fully developed with a few more layers and unexpected personality traits.
The climax of the story is very dramatic and served as a way to bring Mandy and Jackson together once and for all. Jackson’s role as a firefighter comes into play and this area of the story was somewhat expected and predictable.
The Christmas Fantasy is an enjoyable, sexy story. Although some areas were foreseeable and expected, the sexy scenes are hot and the heroine’s issues with self-image rang true as she came to terms with her new body, discovered her sensuality, and found love in the process.
Kurt, “Happy Hard On” Mancini, sported a raging erection, visible from across the yard.
