Aw, Sheriff Sawyer Thompson. You yummy beast, you. Always so complicated but so in love with Chloe. Sigh…. Merry Christmas, Baby is a novella on one of everyone’s favorite Lucky Harbor couples, Chloe and Sawyer. Well, at least they were one of my favorites.
Chloe is very pregnant with a baby neither one expected. She is overrun with hormones, emotions and fear that Sawyer doesn’t want her or their daughter. Sawyer is working extra DEA jobs in order to make more money and expand their house. The only way the pair seems to be communicating recently is through short, clipped conversations.
Sawyer is gone on a new job and Chloe is left at home, 8 1/2 months pregnant and feeling sorry for herself. Against the objections of every person in town she decides to go to the Christmas party and have a good time. Once she is there and the weather turns bad she is stuck and wouldn’t you know, she is also in labor. Luckily, Dr Hottie…errr Josh is also at the party and will be there to help her along. Readers wait with bated breath to see if Sawyer will make it back in time to see his baby born and for there to be a Merry Christmas after all.
More. I need more! Of this series, that is. I had resigned myself to it ending until Ms. Shalvis wrote this novella and paraded all of my favorite characters in front of me. I love them all. They all had a part in Chloe’s pregnancy and I even got to see some of Lance, who is Chloe’s best friend. Sawyer is wonderful, sweet and unafraid to show Chloe what she means to him. He does some things in this novella that almost made my heart hurt. I adore him.
I laughed, I cried, I sighed, I clutched my kindle to my chest….it was wonderful. Fans of this series cannot miss this book, it was a wonderful holiday novella and will not disappoint. Beware, it ends at the 70% mark and if you are like me you were wanting so much more! Final grade- B+
