After being plucked right off an airship and wooed aboard a balloon by her lover, Zenobia has finally agreed to try to make their relationship work. They’ve had some alone time, talked out their feelings, made a plan and are determined that as a team they will find a way to defeat their enemy. Now they are back in the Red City and must sit and wait while their appeal for help is heard by the Empress of Nippon. Zenobia has also written her brother and his wife asking them to make haste and come to their aid. But unfortunately, as outsiders, they must mask themselves and bide their time, waiting for their petitions to be heard and hoping that they can get the help they need before it’s too late.
Part 6 is just four chapters (21-24), and I’m not sure exactly how to review this one without giving away all the good stuff. And there is a lot of good stuff. So I’m just going to include a few of my favorite quotes.
Here’s why Ariq has become one of my favorite heroes:
Yesterday, Ariq had been certain he couldn’t love her more. Would she prove him wrong every single day?
He hoped so.
Here’s why Zenobia is awesome:
“You would give him up so easily– for a few stories?” Helene’s brows shot up. “Yet you think you love him?”
“I think I couldn’t love him at all if he was the sort of man to make me choose between him and my writing.”
Together they are so romantic:
“Then I love it, too.” Ariq’s voice was rough, but he cupped her cheek with a gentle hand. “If ever you need it, I will level mountains to give you a desk. Even if an army is at our door, I’ll hold them off until your ink runs dry.”
This is romance at it’s finest. Only two parts to go and I’m a little sad that it’s almost over. I foresee lots of action and adventure in the next episode. Final Grade- A
