Six pack, Oh, eight pack. And those muscles that cut in right over the hips that gave guys that beautiful V shape. He ran a hand down one of those, and whoa, Sebastian was naked.
Brad’s eyes popped open.
He was gay and as hard as a railroad spike.
Since going on my recent m/m binge I have seen this title many times. I have never been able to get past the silly name though. I have been trying new authors and Ms Tenino was one I hadn’t read yet so I decided to get over my objections to the name and try it. I am so happy that I did.
Frat Boy and Toppy is written in a very humorous way. Brad is your typical jock, in an athletic frat and a dog when it comes to women. He plows his way through so many women in order to half heartedly convince himself that he is happy. But it becomes pretty obvious that he isn’t especially when he start dreaming about the TA in one of his classes.
Sebastian is the object of Brad’s fantasies. Not knowing how to capture Sebastian’s attention, Brad buys a paper online and turns it in as his own work. Cheating is one way to get Sebastian’s attention but it ends up backfiring on Brad. When Sebastian confronts him he feels so bad that he ends up cowering instead of making his move.
Sebastian thinks Brad is hot but completely straight. To say he is surprised when Brad propositions him at a party is an understatement but he is not about to let the opportunity pass him by. Their conversation on top, bottom or verse is pretty funny and hot at the same time. Brad is very specific in his desires though and Sebastian is more than happy to oblige him. What starts as something new and fragile for Brad turns into love and the desire for more.
Frat Boy and Toppy is only 170 pages but there is a lot packed into those pages. I would have loved many more chapters but I don’t feel like we were cheated with what we got. Brad and Sebastian are great together and I feel like they could have a lasting relationship even if this is only a college age story. Parts of the book are lol funny too. Brad has supressed the fact that he is gay only to himself so when he tells everyone it comes across like he was the only one that didn’t already know the fact! Brad coming out to his frat should have been a tense time but it ends up spiraling totally out of control in a comical way. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to get my hands on more of Ms. Tenino’s work! Final grade- B
There are a couple of shorts including an epilogue on Ms. Tenino’s website if you would like to read more!
“Why are all you hets all so intercourse-centric? There’s a lot more to sex than sticking it in and wiggling it around.”
