It’s February 1 and that means it’s time to wrap up my January reading month. I started the year out with some really great reads.
Here are the stats for my January reading roundup:
- 1 – 5 heart rating
- 9 – 4 heart ratings
- 1 – 4.5 heart rating
- 1 – 3 heart rating
- 2 – 2 heart ratings
Tempt Me at Twilight (The Hathaways, #3) Lisa Kleypas 4
Oh Poppy and Harry. Another great read from Lisa Kleypas.
Wilder’s Mate (Bloodhounds, #1) Moira Rogers 4
My first steampunk(ish) book. It was a little light on the steampunk but that’s ok because it was my first time. Lots of good action, very steamy and sexy, enjoyed it very much. Review to come.
Picture Perfect Dyanna Ashe 3
This was a very short story, middle of the road for me.
Married By Morning (The Hathaways, #4) Lisa Kleypas 4
I developed big love for Leo throughout this series so I was really excited to read his story. Marks and Leo are great together. Loved this book.
Icebreaker (New York Blades, #9) Deirdre Martin 2
I struggled with this one. The heroine was too silly for me and the hot and cold relationship put me off. Review to come.
Soulless (The Parasol Protectorate, #1) Gail Carriger 4
I held off for so long on reading this book and I admit it, I’m a doofus. This was delightful, witty, charming…you get the picture.
This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) Jeaniene Frost 4
Squee! Bones and Cat. Loves. Loves. Review to come.
His Client Ava March 4
Ava March is one of my favorite m/m authors. Her heroes are lovable and they smex it up good!
Shadowfever (Fever, #5) Karen Marie Moning 5
Haters, I ask you kindly to talk to the hand. I loved this book it was awesome. It gave me everything I wanted for Mac and Barrons. Loved it!
Love in the Afternoon (The Hathaways, #5) Lisa Kleypas 4
All the Hathaways have now found love and their happily every after. *le sigh* I need more Kleypas STAT!
It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars, #1) Susan Elizabeth Phillips 2
Blech. I found the hero repulsive and I am just not a fan of the ‘good ol’ boy’ mentality. I don’t think I’ll read more from this author based on this book.
Death’s Sweet Embrace Tracey O’Hara 4
This was a nice surprise. I’ve never read this author before and I’m glad I was asked to be a part of this tour. I enjoyed this dark UF and will read more. Review to come.
By the Book Scarlett Parrish 4.5
Hottest, sexiest m/m/f I’ve read in a while. Love this authors voice, want MORE!
Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, #1) Ann Aguirre 4
This is part of my Suck It Up And Read It Challenge. I needed to pick a book from my least favorite genre and read it. Wow. So glad I did. It took a little while before I felt comfortable in Sirantha Jax’s world but once I settled in I loved this book.
Wanderlust (Sirantha Jax, #2) Ann Aguirre – currently reading
The Werewolf Upstairs (Strange Neighbors, #2) – currently reading
That’s my month in books. How does yours compare? Did you read any of these books? What did you think? What did you read that impressed you in January?
