It’s time for another Reading Round-Up. I had a pretty good month, sort of took my time, kicked back and did some leisure reading. Not that I normally do competitive reading, but you know I mean. 14 books in all and I’m looking forward to my March list.
Here we go:
Eternal Seduction (A Darkness Within, #1) by Jennifer Turner-4 Hearts
This was my surprise find of the month. Jennifer Turner is a new-to-me author and I look forward to more from her. She writes an edgy, slightly dark tale in Eternal Seduction and I like her style.
Montana Legacy by R.C. Ryan-3.5 hearts
I have to say, I’m liking the cowboy romances more and more. I enjoyed this one and I’m looking forward to reading the next in the series, Montana Destiny. I have a feeling I’m going to like cousin Wyatt.
From Afar by Ava March-3.5
This was my first Ava March. Regency set, m/m vampires, oh my! I do love her style and I will be reading more. My next read by Ava March, Convincing Arthur.
Shift (Shifters, #5) by Rachel Vincent-5 Hearts
Oh my goodness, this was an awesome read! This was the first book I’ve read in the series but I will be going back for the first four before Alpha is released. I am Rachel Vincent’s newest fan!
Scarlet Woman (Middlemarch Mates, #1) by Shelley Munro-3.5 Hearts
I enjoyed this paranormal romance. I’ve have a string of good luck with the cat shifters, very sexy! Review coming soon!
Marly’s Choice (Men of August, #1) by Lora Leigh-3 Hearts
Well, what can I say? This book was pure sex but teetered on the edge of creepy. Not so creepy that I put it down and walked away though, naughty me. And it didn’t stop me from reading the next book in the series.
First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost-3 Hearts
FDOC was a bit of a miss for me. I just didn’t feel the chemistry between Spade and Denise. I really think I liked Spade and Denise better in the Night Huntress series than in this book. I love Jeaniene Frost though and I look forward to Mencheres’ story in Eternal Kiss Of Darkness out in July of 2010.
Sarah’s Seduction (Men of August, #2) by Lora Leigh-3 Hearts
Again, pure unapologetic sex. This second book in the series wasn’t quite as creepy for me but still pushed the limits a bit. I’m still deciding if I’ll continue reading the series.
Winter Solstice (Celestial Seductions, #1) by Eden Bradley-4 Hearts
A very quick read, but no shortage on the sexy times. I won this novella on the Smutkateers blog and I think I’ll check out Spring Equinox out March 5, 2010. I’ll have a review of this one up soon.
Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark, #9) by Kresley Cole-4 Hearts
It took me a few chapters to get into this book. Could have just been my mood though because Kresley Cole rocked it! Garreth is one of her sexiest werewolves ever and this book was action packed.
Whispers In Autumn by M. Jean Pike-3 Hearts
A very nice romance. I had a few small problems with it though, I’ll discuss it in my upcoming review.
Numbers by Rachel Ward-DNF 3 Hearts As much as I wanted to love this book, I just didn’t connect with the characters. I finally had to admit, it just wasn’t for me. I’ll post my thoughts soon, and will be hosting a giveaway. Edited to add: Ok, I just Couldn’t stand the thought of quitting and after a couple of days decided to pick the book up and try again. I will admit, I found the last half of the book much better than the first and ended up giving 3 hearts in the end. I’m glad I gave it another go.
Convincing Arthur by Ava March-4 Hearts
Wow, wow, wow! I loved Leopold. Ava March knows how to write an emotional, sexy, m/m romance. Review coming soon!
Nauti Deceptions by Lora Leigh-4 Hearts
No I know I said I was breaking up with Lora Leigh (maybe) but I really did like the Nauti Boys series and I just couldn’t resist the latest installment. I’m glad I read it, it was worth groveling at Ms. Leigh’s feet begging her to take me back.
I’d like to thank my guest posters for the Month of February for sharing their romantic stories. It was fun reading all your stories.
Girl that is so list you got there! Wowzers! Think I might need a bigger notebook!
Hope you are having a great day!
VF, if I could read 14 books a month I would rock my book loving heart LOL I loved, loved, LOVED PoaDP, Garreth delivered it big time for me
And I'm so glad you liked Nauti Deception, Rogue perked my interest from the moment she entered the Nauti stage! After the latest installment I though LL was dragging the overall suspense thread but I'm hoping she will deliver something fresh with Rogue
I think I've read 8 books this month, which is more than the average 3-4 of the latest months *grin*
Cecile–I had a nice reading month. I love it when that happens
Leontine–I'm always surprised at the end of a month to see how many books I've read. LOL And oh yes Garreth is the MAN…or wolf…or whatever. He's rivaling Bowden as my fav Kresley Cole hottie. Also, I was not sure I would read Nauti Deceptions, kind of tired of that series, but I really like it. Rogue seemed a bit different than how she was portrayed in the previous book though.
Wow I have been so out of touch lately! I can only dream of reading so many books in one month, I am lucky if I read 4 or 5, it is a great impressive list FV!
Girl youve been busy! ;op Read on girlie!
Oooh..You finished Convincing Arthur
Can't wait for that review.
Glad you stuck with Numbers…you lust after Spider – come on, you can say it.
Marissa–You can do it! Buckle down, put your nose in the book and go!
Monroe–Thanks for the cheer! xoxo lol
Mandi–I really liked Leopold and was so glad he managed to convince Arthur *g* And uh, Spider, I say no the the stinky teenagers…that is all. LOL
