Welcome to What-To-Read Wednesday. Each week our Fiction Vixen reviewers will tell you about a book they think you need to read ASAP. This week Jen recommends:
A Wish Upon Jasmine by Laura Florand
If you have read some of my reviews on here, you know I am a big Laura Florand fan. Her books are so romantic and truly lovely. They give me all the sigh worth moments. A Wish Upon Jasmine is book two in her La Vie en Roses series. This series is a little different from her Amour et Chocolat series. It is set in the South of France and follows the Rosier family.
Book two features a very different type of hero than Once Upon a Rose, book one. Damien is the business man and the money maker. While the previous hero and possibly future heroes are the growers and artists, Damien is the one in charge of keeping the funding going. Damien feels like the family’s well-being is in his hands and that makes him oh so protective of it.
This books is a second chance love as Damien and Jasmine’s relationship started under unfavorable terms. Their way back to each other is fraught with such delicious tension and emotion done in a way that Ms. Florand excels at. She makes me root for her couples, she drags all the feels out of me and then slowly puts it all back together for that perfect happy ending.
There are some moments with the other cousins but most of this book focuses on the main couple. I adored it. I adored the romance, the descriptiveness, the sexual tension…pretty much everything. This author is a favorite and A Wish Upon Jasmine is another winner.
