Each Wednesday one of the Fiction Vixen reviewers will tell you about a book they’ve recently read that they think you need to read too. This week, Angela, Amy and Jen recommend:
Try by Ella Frank
Try is Ella Frank’s m/m debut and to say that Angela, Amy and Jen were excited was an understatement. As soon as this book was available we all grabbed our copies and sat down to read.
Logan, our first hero, is bi-sexual, pushy, alpha, sex on a stick and always gets what he wants. No matter how long it takes. When he sees Tate, he wants him.
Tate, our other hero, is NOT bi-sexual and is coming off a bad marriage. He doesn’t know what to do when Logan comes onto him. He is a bartender and used to be hit on but never by someone so determined to have him.
Since our words will not do the overwhelming sexiness of this book justice, we will do this recommendation in quote form.
“So…I like to try a little bit of everything and everyone.”
The words sank into Tate’s head, settling in, and then they started to make a whole lot more sense – until Logan, as usual, threw another can of gasoline on the fire.
“I’d like to try you.”
“Considering you seemed so confused when, really, that is nothing to be confused about.”
“Except for the fact that I’m straight.” Tate finally announced.
Logan toyed with his glass for a moment before he conceded. “Yes, well, I don’t let little thing like that stand in my way.”
“Tate, you’re sexy as fuck. The minute I saw you, I got hard. When you opened your mouth I became one hundred percent interested. And when you kissed me? I lost my damn mind. I’ll be as patient as I need to, to get you inside me. Anything else?”
“Yeah, me giving a guy head.”
“And loving it?”
“Yes, and loving it. How did that happen?”
Logan let him go, chuckling as he made his way to the door where he unlocked it and looked back at him. That was when Logan told him the one thing that Tate knew was the absolute truth. “You met me.”
“So …what’s your truth, Logan?”
Logan stared at him so intently that Tate wondered what was going on in his head before he replied, “I think you are,” leaving Tate speechless.
“I did it because you got in my face and made me see how irresistible you are, regardless of your gender. And Logan?”
“I still think that, but now, there’s so much more to it.”
This is the first book in the Temptation series and book two will not be out until Summer 2014. Hopefully Take will continue this sizzling sexuality and give us some real advancement in their relationship. They have the physical side going on, but what will read about the emotional side?
