What-To-Read Wednesday: The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan

Welcome to What-To-Read Wednesday. Each week our Fiction Vixen reviewers will tell you about a book they think you need to read ASAP. This week Angela recommends:

The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan

The Countess Conspiracy (Brothers Sinister #3) by Courtney Milan

There are many, many reasons why I absolutely loved the latest in Courtney Milan’s Brothers Sinister series. So many.

The hero, Sebastian, is funny and sweet and a fantastically wonderful man who has been in love with the heroine, Violet, all his life. He’s not afraid to tell the woman he loves how much he adores her. Any why.

“That’s one of the reasons I love you, Violet. You see so many surprising things and you think they’re obvious. And you’re right about them too.”

Violet is smart, genius smart. But she’s also kind, and loyal. Sebastian is the only person in the world who has ever really understood her. There is so much trauma in her past that causes her to appear cold, aloof and not capable of romantic love, but he sees through it all to the real woman underneath. So he slowly seduces her. With words, and trust, and an undying, unbreakable friendship.

“Clever Violet,” Sebastian said “Lovely Violet. Sweet Violet. The best Violet in the entire world.” He slid his hands up her thighs and she gasped. “Beloved Violet,” he said softly. “What are you thinking about?”

“You,” she said. “And me.”

This was simply one of the most romantic love stories I’ve read in quite a while. I was struck by this couple’s connection to each other. I wasn’t just enamored of the hero, or the heroine, (although, I did like them both) but by their relationship and the level of trust and respect they had for each other. This isn’t one of those romances where in the end you wonder what the main characters saw in the each other or have thoughts that their relationship is based on sex. No, this couple will endear themselves to you and you will completely believe in their happily ever after.

I forgot to mention that I loved how smart Violet was, and that Sebastian completely supported her. Loved that.

Absolutely. Characters from the previous books make appearances, but you will not be lost if you haven’t read their stories.

  1. […] The Countess Conspiracy by Courtney Milan ** AMZ * BN * S * K As much as I loved both the hero and heroine in this book, my absolute favorite thing about the third installment in the  Brothers Sinister series was the connection and relationship between this couple. Violet and Sebastian are best friends, although he has been in love with her since he was a young boy, and there is a tremendous amount of trust and loyalty between them. Sebastian’s wooing of his Violet is an incredibly romantic thing. So, so romantic. See my WTRW post here. […]
