I have really enjoyed doing these Random Friday posts each week and I look forward to posting whatever random thing pops into my head. But this week I realized the one thing I really don’t like about Random Friday. It reminds me how fast time goes by. I swear every week I’m shocked that it’s time to do the RF post because it feels like I JUST did one. It seems like Friday comes earlier and earlier every week.
So this week was just as crazy as most of my weeks and I’m wondering if there is any relief from the crazy in my near future. The kids are in their final weeks of school and soon they will be home with me during the week. During the summer we get to sleep in a little later. WIN. They will be home and together more which means bickering. BOO. We get to do fun things during the week like go to the movies and go swimming. WIN. There will be bickering. BOO. We’ll have to work on the bickering. The little vixens are 20 months apart in age and they are getting a little competitive with each other. This will be a fun summer.
This week’s RF post will be a bit of a round-up post for Fiction Vixen. Here we go.

You may have noticed that Catherine posted a Tempting Teaser this week for Department Nineteen by Will Hill. Catherine came up with this idea and I really like it. We’ll be posting quotes from the books we’ll be reviewing at Fiction Vixen to tease you a bit. We might not post teasers for all the books we read but if we come across an especially fun quote or something we think you’ll like, we’ll post it a few days before the review goes up. We hope you’ll enjoy!
Here is what Catherine has to say this week:
Hi, all! It’s Catherine. Since I recently posted my review of Dangerous in Diamonds I thought I would share with all you Fiction Vixen readers something I found rather interesting. I’m sure from reading my review you know that I found Castleford wicked, debauched, and absolutely fascinating. But maybe you have some doubt about how debauched he actually was? Well, let me satisfy your curiosity on that score.
In Sinful in Satin Castleford decided to put his wicked knowledge to use and start writing a guide to help men find ladies of ill repute that would fit whatever desire they had. What I found so interesting about this is the fact that someone actually did this! Samuel Derrick invented the very first “little black book”. Take a look, it’s fascinating stuff. I just thought I’d share because I found it delightful to see that bit of historical truth written into Castleford’s character.
Also in book news:
The 6th book in Jennifer Estep’s Elemental Assassin series is called By a Thread and is due out 1/31/2012. And, the 4th book in Thea Harrison’s Elder Races series is called Oracle’s Moon and is due out 3/6/2012. No cover for either yet.
I watched Tangled for the first time with my kids yesterday. We’ve had the movie for a while but I’ve just never watched it. I loved it! LOVED. But then I always end up loving Disney movies. So today I was surfing around on the internet and I came across this:
Concealed Messages In Disney Cartoons:
If you search YouTube there are videos that will show you concealed subliminal messages in commercials etc. but I find the ones in Disney cartoons fascinating. I don’t want to believe they are really there because you know, that’s just wrong. But people seem to be able to find these so-called messages. Is it that they are deliberately placed? Or is the human mind predisposed to find SEX everywhere?
I haven’t been online much this week so I don’t really have any book news or crazy sauce to spread around so I’m just going to leave you with some llama love. What? Llama love is NOT crazy.
@srbastian from Twitter saw this little cutie and sent it my way
That’s all for me folks. Enjoy your weekend!
Can someone please tell me why Google Friend Connect is not working? I miss seeing my friends pretty faces. Where’d they go?
