I was a little out of this week. I’ve had a cold that beat me down all week. In my weakened state, during the late nights of hacking and coughing, I watched TV. This always gets me in trouble because I end up watching things that disturb me. This weeks horror:
Yeah, I watched Jersey Shore for the first time. omg. I wish I could come up with something clever but I got nothing. I must be getting old because this show made me want to hide my children in an underground bomb-shelter. And because I can’t leave well enough alone, I had to look up the meaning of the Jersey Shore acronyms, like DTF and GTL.
While I searching for an image for Jersey Shore, I found this:
It has nothing at all to do with anything I’m talking about but it’s funny. And really, who hasn’t wondered about ass bongs? Now you know.

New Courtney Milan series!!
Courtney Milan has a new series due out this summer. She says it’s “…about three men who were all friends at Eton…and who all happen to be left handed (hence the Brothers Sinister)”.
Since the series is about three men, it’s interesting that covers all feature the heroines and the titles imply the heroines would be the focus of the story. I love the beautiful colors on covers and of course the dresses. The dresses always get me. The first, The Governess Affair (coming April 2012), is an introductory novella and the three books following are full length novels. I’m really looking forward to another Milan series. Thanks to Mandi at Smexy Books for the heads up.
Because I was sick this week I didn’t spend much time online. I whined and complained to Catherine that RF would be sparce this week and of course she came through for me because she is awesome like that. Here’s what she stumbled upon this week:
– The fifth book in the Elder Races series by Thea Harrison will be titled Lord’s Fall and will follow Dragos and Pia again. [Sophia: *Perks* Dragos and Pia? Oh yes, their book was awesome and I would love to read more!]
– Stygian’s Honor by Lora Leigh finally has a cover. The book release date has been pushed back a couple times, (now set for August 7, 2012) so I wasn’t sure when we’d get this cover.
– The cover for Even White Trash Zombies Get the Blues by Diana Rowland (due out July 3, 2012) is looking pretty fab. Her covers are created by Dan dos Santos. We did a Weekend Spotlight on Dan dos Santos here at Fiction Vixen. An amazing artist.
– I don’t think we’ve posted the cover for Chasing Magic by Stacia Kane yet. It’s due out June 26, 2012.
– There’s a cover for Laurell K. Hamiliton’s next Anita Blake book, Kiss The Dead (due out June 5, 2012)
It looks like Harlequin is getting in on the Downton Abbey love. Historical Romance Addicts says Harlequin are set to release a new regency set romance series based on a similar premise. More details here.
The sixth Dragon Kin book, How to Drive a Dragon Crazy by G.A. Aiken , has been the subject of much discussion because everyone has been wondering if it will feature Éibhear and Izzy. We’ve been waiting forever for them. 😉 Well, the newsletter mentioned that she turned the manuscript in and now feels comfortable discussing the book. It will feature that couple. (unfortunately, I couldn’t find an online version of the newsletter which contains a nice excerpt. If you know where it is online, let us know)
And…that’s all I got.
Samantha is losing it!! For real!
I’m trying to drop 20 pounds by June 1 – before I have to bike my big round butt 545 miles across CA (for ALC11). I started using the Lose It! app on my iPhone to help track my calories and I’m looking for some weight loss buddies. Lose It! is an awesome weight loss/calorie tracker app and it’s free. It’s also now available for Android.
If you are using the app and would like to be buddies with me on there so we can motivate each other, you can find me by using my email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
I’m going to check this out! Thanks Samantha!
That’s is for me! Happy weekend!
