Earlier this week on Twitter, Kati (@KatiD) asked what one or two authors did people have that they could always count on. Like when you started their books, you knew you would end them satisfied. I thought it was an excellent question and, for me, not a very difficult one. I had four authors immediately pop into my head. They are the ones that I reread several times a year and if I find myself in a slump they are the authors I turn to in order to shake myself out of that slump. For the sake of this discussion, I narrowed it down to those four but I could easily be talked into more (see, I really am easy!!).
Karen Marie Moning- I mean, come on. I adore, love, slobber on, covet, and so on every word this woman puts on her pages. She has created my favorite hero, my favorite series, my favorite couple…and she is still adding to it. It is very possible that by the end of Dani’s books I could have a new favorite everything and it will still be written by her! No author has put me through the ringer like her and I still come back for more. Over and over and over….
Nalini Singh- In one of my previous review for Ms. Singh I stated that I would read the phone book if she wrote it. And I still stand by that. On any given day I waver back and forth between liking her Psy/Changeling series the best or the Guild Hunter series the best. She has created two unique series that I have mad love for. So mad that I check amazon daily in hopes that they have made some mistake and released Heart of Obsidian early.
Julie James- Ms. James has become the queen of contemporary romance for me. I know that when I pick up one of her books that I am going to get smart, sexy and sigh worthy. The first book of hers that I read was Just the Sexiest Man Alive and there were no major sexy scenes but I was captivated. Anyone that can convince me to keep reading without the goody parts immediately perks up my interest. Since that first book though Ms. James has written some hot and verra sexy scenes. No worries there folks!
Jeaniene Frost- Cat and Bones, my first PNR couple and first PNR books. From the time I read Chapter 32 where Ms. Frost was one of the first authors I read to “go there”, I became a devoted reader. Her writing is emotional, sexy and she isn’t afraid to take some chances with her couples. Ms Frost recently announced that she will be writing an “older YA” series. I am intrigued. Bones and Vlad are pretty sexy and that is one the major draws. But I will read whatever she writes, she is just that good.
So what about you? Give me a couple authors that you know will never disappoint!
