More Good Reasons to Spend Money!! Jen’s Eagerly Anticipating List for 2013 (Giveaway)

Really, I needed more books to buy.  But these will be my must buys of 2013.  Absolute must buy.

Burned (Fever #7, Dani O’Malley Trilogy #2) by Karen Marie Moning– Dani is supposed to age a little in this next book.  I certainly hope that is the case because I am really anxious to know who the love interest is here.  My head just might explode if we have to wait until Flayed to have that question answered.

Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews- No Kate Daniels for 2012 made Jen a dull girl.  Or at least a sad one.  While we saw glimpses of Kate and Curran in Gunmetal Magic it was nowhere near enough.  Each book in this series has been better than the previous one so I am very excited about getting my hands on this one.

Frost Burned (Mercy Thompson #7) by Patricia Briggs-  As with Kate, we did not get any Mercy Thompson in 2012.  The blurb for this one makes me a little nervous because Adam seems to be missing.  Adam is a big part of the story for me!! I can only hope he is just missing for a chapter or two?

Untitled (Rock Chick #8) by Kristen Ashley- The blurb sounds a little anonymous but we know from a previous epilogue that this will be Ally and Ren’s story.  I am betting this will be the best one yet.  Ally has always been a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to catch up with the Rock Chick gang.

Ally Nightingale has secrets. Secrets she doesn’t even share with the Rock Chicks.
But two men know what she’s up to. One has her back. The other has her heart but he doesn’t know it.

Untitled– (Psy-Changeling #12) by Nalini Singh- People, DID YOU SEE THE BLURB ON THIS ONE??  The content is so super secret that we won’t get a name or a cover until publication!  How crazy is that?  I have never seen something like that before.  It is obviously about the Ghost and I really want that to be Kaleb.  Nalini Singh is eviiilllll.

Untitled– (Guild Hunter #6) by Nalini Singh- Finally, we get back to Elena and Raphael.  The previous books have been good but they haven’t been Raphael.

Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7, Night Huntress – Complete World #10) by Jeaniene Frost- Bones.  That is all.

When I’m With You by Beth Kery- A new serial by Ms. Kery similar to Because You are Mine.  I don’t know what I am more excited about, more Francesca and Ian or another serial.

This is Elise and Lucien’s story, but Ian and Francesca play a big part in it. In fact, WHEN opens the door for more Ian and Francesca in BECAUSE WE BELONG, out later in 2013.

Beyond Control (Beyond #2) by Kit Rocha- I am very excited to get back into this world.  It was filthy and I loved it.  This book will be Dallas’ book and Lex is going to have to earn him.  Or I will beat her down and take him for myself.  Seriously.

Untitled (On Dublin Street #2) by Samantha Young- More Braden.  I loved these two and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us.

Fifth Grave Past the Light  Charley Davidson #5 by Darynda Jones- I am really hoping this will be the book where we see a real relationship for Charley and Reyes.  And maybe we can find out what Charley is really capable of.  I figure since this is the fifth book we are due some happiness, right?  I also look forward to the normal hijinks that happen in these books.

That is a short list for me.  Trust me when I say I could have added many more but these are the books that pop immediately into my head when I pose the questions.  What about you?  What are you anticipating?

Everyone who comments and uses the Promo Simple widget below between Dec. 17 – Jan. 1 on blogcation posts will be entered to win a $50 gift card to the online book retailer of their choice. Come back every day! Open to all.

If we have to wait till Flayed to find out who Dani’s love interest is both of our heads will explode. That would just be too cruel, KMM wouldn’t do that to us…. Right?

  2. Amanda says

It does seem like it has been forever since I last read a new Mercy Thompson book and like you I hope Adam is not missing to much from this book. I am also wondering if what happened with the Fae at the end of the last Charles & Anna book will carry over to Frost Burned.

I don’t see how they could not give us Adam too. We didn’t get one of the Mercy/Adam in 2012 but now we only get Mercy. I don’t like that!

  3. Missie says

Charley and (Hot as Hell) Reyes! The drive me mad! My hopes are the same as your, Jen! *fingers crossed*

  4. Tina B says

I am really excited for the second On Dublin Street and also, Walking Disaster from Jamie McGuire! There are so many to wait for. Of course, any of Kresley Cole’s books too. 😉

I saw on her website or FB page that the sequel to Poison Princess will be out in like October, but I am hoping that she will have some others also!

  5. Catherine says

Some great titles to watch for and get on my, “can’t wait to read list.” Especially Nalini Singh.

  6. Jen B. says

I know I will purchase KMM’s book. I can’t get enough of that Fever series and Dani is making me nuts. I am also really excited that Patricia Briggs is releasing a Mercy book. I really missed having one this year.

  7. JenM says

Definitely Kate and Mercy for the win. I didn’t know there would be a follow up to Dublin Street so I will be looking out for that one. I’m also really looking forward to Binding the Shadows by Jenn Bennett after just finishing her recent novella.

  8. Barbara Elness says

I’m anticipating Jeaniene Frost’s Up From the Grave, Cassie Alexander’s Shapeshifted,Ann Aguirre’s Bronze Gods, and Kevin Hearne’s Hunted.

  9. Tabitha says

All the books of the authors listed (except for Kery, Rocha and Monings) are my most anticipated books for the new year. In fact, all of them are favorite authors as well. Well, Monings is a fave author too but I havent read Iced so thats why Burned is not anticipated. (I know, what’s wrong with me?? Lol)

Ooh, I definitely agree with a lot of these.
Did you see the excerpt they posted from the new Mercy book? There seems to be plenty of Adam in that, and it seems close to the start, so hopefully Adam is just absent in person, and not completely gone?
And in the newsletter from Nalini Singh the other day it says cover & title for the new Psy/Changeling book will be released at the end of January. I’m not sure how much that will help with everyone’s speculation though… do we even know who the main characters in this one are going to be?
And I agree with looking forward to Seanan McGuire’s ‘Chimes at Midnight’ – it’s the next in her October Daye series. More urban fantasy than romance/smex, but it has a couple of very nice leading men. Lots of faeries, in San Francisco.

All of these!!!! Just when I sternly tell myself that I need to curb the book spending, I find out that another of my “absolutely favorite” authors has a new book coming out. At least with my Kindle I can hide it, but there are some authors I still want in paperback and so I find myself rushing home to hide the Amazon evidence. The boyfriend is still clueless about how much I spend and I move the book piles around so he doesn’t notice them growing. But…. I think I might need a book buyer’s anonymous group to help w/ the addiction :)

I think it is funny you move the piles around. My hubs would freak if he saw my kindle although he does see the cc charges!
