Part II’s installment ended with Elise catching Lucien eavesdropping on Ian’s phone call. We still don’t know what Lucien is trying to accomplish with Ian and I don’t like that. Ian is my boy, you know? Somehow Elise catching Lucien turns into a sexual encounter with her on her knees. I have to say that Ms. Kery writes the most amazing blow job scenes. I have not run across a better writer of that particular scene. But Elise performs and then is upset when Lucien will not reciprocate. In his defense they are in Ian’s home and he wants to wait for better circumstances. Elise leaves the party without telling anyone, but Francesca, that she is leaving. When Lucien finally catches up to her Elise is a pack of trouble and he must rescue her.
We found out in part II of When I’m With You that Elise is a virgin. Being a virgin is completely contrary to what everyone believes about her especially Lucien so all I find myself wanting to read about is their first time. Part III of the serial was more build up to that moment but it still never happened. I think that sometimes these serials mess with me. I have been reading this book for three weeks now so it seems like there should be more progress than what there actually is. In reality I am only about 120+ pages in so it is not a stretch that the main couple has not consummated their relationship. It just feels like they should have.
So with those thoughts in mind I think I might give this installment a tiny bit lower grade. I really, really want to read Lucien’s reaction to Elise being a virgin and everything else is just filler up until that point. Good filler, but still filler. Final grade- B-
“You do not ride me,” he said gently. “I ride you.”
“Nobody rides me.”
