Mini Review: When I’m With You Part II: When You Defy Me by Beth Kery

When I'm With You Part II: When You Defy Me by Beth KeryWhen You Defy Me takes us on the first steps of Lucien and Elise’s sexual relationship.  Lucien has decided that Elise needs someone to take a firm hand with her and he will be the man.  Elise is still bold and sassy but is strangely compelled to give the discipline a shot.  This installment opens with Lucien giving Elise an example of what she has to look forward to.

Part II of this serial was more of a get to know you session for Lucien and Elise.  There are flashbacks, woven in with the current story, that give us background on how Lucien and Elise know each other.  There is a lot of detail about their families and about how they got to where they are now.  I was kind of surprised to find that Elise is still a virgin.  There is no way she will let Lucien know that though and I don’t really see that ending well.  It does have me interested to read their first time.

Ian and Francesca are back (woo-hoo!) and host an engagement party.  At the engagement party Elise catches Lucien eavesdropping on a phone conversation Ian is having.  I still get the “we are friends” vibe from Ian and Lucien but I am not liking this spying thing.  I need to know what is going on with Lucien in this area.  I will not be happy if he is out to hurt my Ian.

The installment closes out with Elise falling to her knees in front of Lucien.  I wonder what she will do down there?  ;)  Final grade- B

“Don’t ever call me darling again,” he growled softly.  “I’m not one of your panting, disposable boy toys.  I’m not even remotely the same animal.”

What i don’t understood is in reality how you are no longer actually much more smartly-preferred than you may be right now. You are very intelligent. You recognize thus significantly when it comes to this topic, made me in my opinion consider it from a lot of varied angles. Its like men and women aren’t fascinated unless it’s something to do with Girl gaga! Your own stuffs great. Always handle it up!
