It seems the Fiction Vixen reviewers were all extra busy in June. Some of us didn’t get a lot of reading done. 🙁 But we still have a few recommendations for you. These are book we read in June but were not necessarily published in June.
I haven’t had a chance to read too much this month but I have been able to squeeze a couple of pages in to preserve my sanity. I have been making my way through Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick’s series. As with any series when you read seven books back to back, they are all kind of similar. But having seven books with KA heroes can never be a bad thing. Also I have found the writing in this series to be better than all previous books I have read by her. The series order is:
I am currently reading Rock Chick Revenge and I love it as much as the last one, maybe a little more because Luke has always been a favorite. The characters are all recurring and they are a ton of fun. It has been a bonus to follow their relationships throughout each book. I also just found out that one of the Rock Chick’s that I love will have a book out this summer with one of the boys I found irresistible. I would easily give each book in this series an A or B. Highly recommend!
Stripped by Tori St. Claire– Bad ass heroine and strong, sexy male hero take the stage in this awesome erotic suspense novel. This was edge of your seat action and sizzling sexual goodness at its best! Did I mention sizzling? Looking forward to Lie to Me which releases July 2012. Mandi at Smexybooks did a great review.
About Last Night by Ruthie Knox made the top of my list in our May recommends and this month I’m recommending her fabulous and flirty debut novel, Ride With Me. – A fun, sexy trip along the TransAmerica Trail with crabby, hunky hero Tom! Loved him! Now I’m bummed that I’ve read Ms. Knox’s entire backlist. Check out Samantha’s review.
Sexy Little Surprises by J.C. Daniels– Loved this sexy, seductive, emotional story of a husband and wife willing to not give up on their stagnant marriage and desiring to find their way back to each other. Authentic and hopeful, I only wish we could have had more of this special couple. (I did not realize until after finishing the story that Daniels is the alternate pen name of Shiloh Walker so take note Walker fans, this one will satisfy your need for a quick fix!) Check out Tori from Smexybooks review.
I was also back on the crack train with Kristen Ashley finishing out her Dream Man series. I really enjoyed the last three books in the series; Wild Man, Law Man and Motorcycle Man. Wild Man featured a couple in their forties which I could totally relate to and I appreciated their no games no BS attitude with regard to life and their relationship. Law Man featured a sweet, sexy, heart of gold detective hero Mitch while Motorcycle Man was a totally opposite crass, dirty talking alpha hero Tack. ( Tack is whack and I loved every minute of him!) I confirm that her books continue to be cracktastic!
Unfortunately I didn’t get to read as much as I usually do and so only one book made my recommendation list and it was a novella. I read and loved Slow Summer Kisses by Shannon Stacey. I’m really loving contemporary romance at the moment and Shannon Stacey writes’em just how I like’em. This is a great beach read featuring a two people who are living (separately) on a lake for the summer. The hero lives there permanently, after leaving behind his career and a life that just wasn’t for him. The heroine finds herself unemployed and decides to stay on the lake to relax and regroup. Their romance is fun and sexy and make me laugh out loud. This book is only $1.50 right now. Get it!
