Jen’s Most Anticipated Books coming in 2012

We were asked to list the books we were most looking forward to in 2012.  After going through my list, I realize that I might have a PNR problem.  In a year without Mercy or Kate, both of whom would automatically be on my list, I still have 4/5 books as PNR.  I guess I can say that my runners up are not PNR?  Oh well, here we go!

Lover Reborn by J.R. Ward (3/27/12)- I was not a big of the last installment of BDB.  I thought Lover Unleashed was a giant cop out by Ward.  You can see my review here. That will not stop me from instantly downloading Tohr’s book.  I cannot remember the last time I looked forward to a book in this series so much.  This book will either be a train wreck or one fabulous pile of awesome.  I am hoping for the fabulous pile of awesome, obviously.  No’One would not have been my choice for Tohr and I can’t really say why.  Maybe it is because I am still stuck on Wellsie.  It is going to take some serious writing to get me over Wellsie.

Lothaire by Kresley Cole (1/10/12)- Every book in this series is somehow better than the last one.  We know nothing about Lothaire’s heroine but really that doesn’t matter.  I know enough about Lothaire to know this book is going to be fabulous.

Fifty Shades Freed- E.L. James (1/19/12)- The first two Fifty Shades books took us all by surprise.  I cannot wait to read more about Fifty and Ana and to get the final installment of their story.  I know it will be emotional and intense but I wouldn’t hope for anything less.

Iced by Karen Marie Moning (10/30/12) Um, HELLO!!  I cannot wait to get back into the Fever world.  While I will be consoling myself that this whole book won’t be about Barrons at least Ryodan will be in it.  I am not sure how I feel about Dani yet.  I didn’t end Shadowfever in a good place with her.  And I certainly do not think she is worthy of Christian or Ryodan.  And what about the Dancer character?  How will he play in?  Ah, I do not know if I am ready to be taken on another roller coaster ride by KMM.

Once Burned by Jeaniene  Frost (6/26/12)- Cat and Bones have long been my favorite PNR couple.  The secondary characters in those books are nothing short of awesome.  I will admit I have not been a big fan of the Night Huntress books.  They just don’t have the spark that Cat and Bones do.  I am hoping that will change with Vlad.  Vlad has played a big part in the Cat and Bones world and it will be interesting to see him step out on his own.  And we will be getting more than one book from him.  That alone makes it a little intriguing.

Runners Up

About that Night by Julie James (4/3/12)- I pretty much adore anything she writes.  I don’t expect this book to be any different.

Rainshadow Road, Griffin Bay and Dream Lake by Lisa Kleypas (all due out in 2012)- See my statement above from Julie James.  Lisa Kleypas is my favorite HR author and her contemporaries are just as good.

About Jen

I am happily married to a wonderful man and mother to 3 crazy kids. My major escape from the craziness at home is usually in a book. Preferably of the romance variety with a broody, alpha hero. I am also a huge sports fan. The St. Louis Cardinals have been my team since my grandpa introduced me to baseball at the tender age of birth. Go Cardinals!!

  1. OMG! I agree with all of these. KMM will kill me with another series. And Tohr’s book had better deliver since he is my favorite brother anyway. This year is going to be torture for us!

  2. Great list!
I can’t wait for KMM’s book but I won’t be reading it. lol Does that make sense? Well let me explain. I am super excited because the story continues but I can’t take KMM’s cliff hanger endings. I will wait until she is done the series like Fever and then I’ll read them back to back. I wish they could all be done in a year but alas, impossible.

I totally agree about Lisa Kleypas because I basically love everything she writes. So I anticipate anything new by her.

Lover Reborn is gonna be so awesome. Oh man I can’t wait!

I also love all Cat & Bones so bring it on!

I am also waiting for Lauren Dane’s conclusion to her series “Captivated” I man I can’t wait for that book!
I also can’t wait for Jill Shalvis’ book.

    Great list!

  3. I’m looking forward to the Julie James and Lisa Kleypas books too. I didn’t realize Kleypas would have three books out in 2012. You totally made my day.

  4. QHUAY!!

    Boo hiss Le Douche.

  5. Tohr is on my list as well as Julie James!

  6. I’m ridiculously excited for Lover Reborn, Lothaire, and Iced. Well… Maybe halfway excited for Iced. I can’t wait for another Fever book, but I’m not so much excited for Dani. She was my least favorite character in the Fever series, next to Ryodan (jerk). At least she had an excuse. Sort of. She was a child. He was just a prick. Still, I can’t wait to see what KMM does with the characters and the world and everything. She has a way of making everything fit. So of course I’m going to read it. Probably in one sitting.

    • Dani wasn’t my favorite either. But I did like Ryodan. He reminded me so much of Barrons and I love me some Barrons!

  7. OMG! I’m craving, literally craving for Once Burned! And of course Lover Reborn and Iced by KMM! I love you picks! Awesome list!

  8. Completely agree with Lover Reborn. No’One wouldn’t have been my first choice either.

Cat and Bones – love them! The secondary characters are made of awesome. I haven’t gotten to read Spade’s or any of the other books yet.

    Great list!!

  9. Great list, Jen! I’m looking forward to Once Burned. I gave up on Cat and Bones, but Vlad has always held my interest! I’m interested in Lothaire and Fifty Shades Freed as well. I can’t wait to get my hands on them. :D

  10. Totally with you on Fifty and Kleypas! Haven’t been as enamored of her contemporaries, though the two I’ve read I have liked; skipped Sugar Daddy and the first Harbor book though.
