My reading habits are notoriously random. One week I will decide to read only Urban Fantasy and the next week I will shun that genre. There will be times where every book I read stinks and times where I love everything and everyone. One thing that also holds true is my love of the glom. Merriam-Webster defines glom as: to take or get (something), glom on to: to grab hold appropriate to oneself.
My gloms almost always revolve around an author. I find an author that is new to me and I go buy their entire backlist and spend a week or two reading it. Nothing can stop me until I am fully glutted on that author’s work. I decided to share my monthly glom will y’all in hopes that:
1) you might find a new to you author like I did and you can glom also
2) you can share your glom habits so I don’t feel so lonely and cray-cray
3) maybe you can steer me towards my next new-to-me author that I will glom on
November- M.S. Parker
While perusing Amazon books this month I stumbled across a free one that looked like it was right up my alley. I’m not going to lie or be coy, I like the alpha billionaire. I know it is not normal and sometimes those books are completely ridiculous, but I can’t help myself. Club Prive, book 1 in M.S. Parker’s Club Prive series was free and it had the words ” devastatingly handsome Gavin” in the blurb. Ok, I think I was sold. This book is what started my monthly glom.
Once I was done with the Club Prive series I moved onto the Chasing Perfection trilogy. This one was a little different but not in a bad way. I like that Ms. Parker shows she can write two very different heroes. Gavin from the Club Prive series seems like he should be an alphahole but he ends up being very sweet. The Chasing Perfection series follows the heroine from the Club Prive’s series best friend and her quest on the other side of the country. This trilogy features the jerk of all jerks. Some of the first couple scenes had my mouth hanging open with disgust but I was also very intrigued. Each book has that cracky feeling to it, where you know you are reading a trainwreck but you just can’t seem to stop.
When the month ended I had read eight books by Ms. Parker and I would call that a glom. The books are such that they end on minor cliffhangers and are all around 100-150 pages. There is another series about the couple from Club Prive but they are in France that I think I will have to try next.
