My reading habits are notoriously random. One week I will decide to read only Urban Fantasy and the next week I will shun that genre. There will be times where every book I read stinks and times where I love everything and everyone. One thing that also holds true is my love of the glom. Merriam-Webster defines glom as: to take or get (something), glom on to: to grab hold of : appropriate to oneself.
My gloms almost always revolve around an author. I find an author that is new to me and I go buy their entire backlist and spend a week or two reading it. Nothing can stop me until I am fully glutted on that author’s work. I decided to share my monthly glom will y’all in hopes that:
1) you might find a new to you author like I did and you can glom also
2) you can share your glom habits so I don’t feel so lonely and cray-cray
3) maybe you can steer me towards my next new-to-me author that I will glom on
May- Julie James on audio
I discovered Julie James in 2011 and after reading Just the Sexiest Man Alive and Practice Makes Perfect it was pretty evident she would become an autobuy for me. At that time I bought all of her books and then went into a funk when I was done with them. Back then I think she only had three or four books published so it was a short glom. Luckily, this time she has seven (I think that is correct) book published so I had a nice long audio glom this month.
If you haven’t read any of Julie James then you are really missing out. I have often heard her books referred to as “smart” romances and that is an apt description. She is a lawyer and her books are often set in the courthouse but she doesn’t bog you down with legal terms. She has a way of making law fun and interesting. Her H/h always have the most engaging banter and some good laugh out loud moments.
Another definite plus is her heroes. She writes some serious alpha, yummy heroes. My personal favorites are Jack Pallas and Nick McCall. They have a bad boy air but they are manly FBI agents so they work on the side of good. And they are quite exceptional at their job!
After a fun month with Ms. James, I started a new audio book this week and I was a little sad about it. I really miss the excellent narrator, Karen White, and the fun quality that all Julie James books have. I guess I will just have to wait until the next one!
Now for my giveaway! I will gift one person an ebook copy of any Julie James book. I know the post is about audio books but I don’t know if everyone has the ability to listen so we will just go with the ebook. My personal favorite is Something About You but the choice is all yours.
