My reading habits are notoriously random. One week I will decide to read only Urban Fantasy and the next week I will shun that genre. There will be times where every book I read stinks and times where I love everything and everyone. One thing that also holds true is my love of the glom. Merriam-Webster defines glom as: to take or get (something), glom on to: to grab hold appropriate to oneself.
My gloms almost always revolve around an author. I find an author that is new to me and I go buy their entire backlist and spend a week or two reading it. Nothing can stop me until I am fully glutted on that author’s work. I decided to share my monthly glom will y’all in hopes that:
1) you might find a new to you author like I did and you can glom also
2) you can share your glom habits so I don’t feel so lonely and cray-cray
3) maybe you can steer me towards my next new-to-me author that I will glom on
August- Nora Roberts
Late August rolled around and I remembered that I needed to write my monthly glom post. My first thought was “Oh crap! I haven’t read a book in over a week (book funk) and definitely not two by the same author.” And then I got to thinking. Not only do I read books but I also listen to them. Lately, I have been listening to Nora Roberts.
It started with her Gallaghers of Ardmore series. I picked up book one, Jewels of the Sun, on a whim and ended up really liking it. So I bought books two and three. So far I listened to book two but not book three yet. Then came my real jewel of the month. The Witness.
I had heard a lot about this book, it was her best book yet….she is back…among other things. When it was on sale at Audible, I grabbed it and everything people said about it turned out to be true. It was so good. It was one of those books where I found myself taking the long route to work or running that extra mile just so I could listen to it. If you are a Nora Roberts fan and haven’t read The Witness, you absolutely should. It features one of the best heroines I have read in a long time and a wonderfully sweet and persistent hero.
Right now I am listening to Black Hills and at the beginning of September I will be starting Festive in Death (yes, I know that is J.D. Robb but they are the same person!) So I decided that four soon to be five books pretty much makes a glom!
Now for my giveaway!
