I’m pleased to have author Eden Bradley here at FictionVixen.com today.
FV: Tell me about Eden Bradley-the quick and dirty version.
EB: Oh, I like quick and dirty…*G* I write smut full-time and teach Pilates part time. I live in Hollywood with my boyfriend and three cats, all of whom I adore, but I’m dying to get an ugly little dog-really…totally obsessed! I’m an art geek (I especially love the Surrealists and Neo-classical art), have an unhealthy relationship with stiletto heels, have the best friends in the world, and get to write off sex toys on my taxes. It’s a good life!
FV: You wrote your first novel at age twelve with a friend and you describe it as “a rather horrible romance novel”. Please tell me you still have a copy?
Can you tell me just a little about it?
EB: *Groan* Luckily, that bit of garbage is long lost. I have absolutely no memory of it, other than that there was love and tragedy. I may have blocked the rest out. ‘Rather horrible’ was probably an understatement!
FV: Winter Solstice is a very sexy read with an interesting twist on fate. Can you tell me a little about the next novella in the series and your recent release Spring Equinox?
EB: Spring Equinox is a reunion story set on an island off the coast of Venezuela. Isla de Margarita is a real place-absolutely gorgeous! There’s love, there’s hot sex, and the hero’s best friend, just to spice things up. Here’s the official blurb:
Once upon a time, two young lovers made a vow to reunite…someday…
On a beach on the small Caribbean island of Isla de Margarita, Isabel Asher meets once more the man she left behind twelve years earlier, on her eighteenth birthday. The only man she’s ever truly loved. Rafael Cruz is all grown up, and he is every fantasy she’s ever had come back to life, and more. The chemistry is stunning, the sex sizzling, the power of their memories overwhelming. A few weeks together has them both wanting more, but can the sensual tropical nights spent in his bed lead them back to love? She’s about to find out…and maybe to have her heart broken in the process.
FV: Do you ever base the characters in your writings on people you know?
EB: Absolutely! Many of my secondary characters are named after fellow writers, and two of my heroes are based on a guy I had unresolved issues with (Shaye in my novella, SANCTUARY, which is part of the ‘Exclusive’ anthology, and Joshua in my novel, A 21ST CENTURY COURTESAN). I wrote him out of my system-it was therapeutic. That’s the danger in knowing an author. Our friends never know if they’ll end up as a hero, a sex slave in a BDSM training house, or a murder victim!
FV: Hmmm, you’re not by chance planning to include an obnoxious Vixen blogger who corners romance authors and pressures them into interviews and giveaways in your next story are you? Just askin’. What? That’s not sexy?
FV: What was the last book you read?
EB: I got to critique R.G. Alexander’s first novel for Berkley Heat, POSSESS ME (out in August). Awesome, hot anthology set in New Orleans-my favorite city.
FV: You hang with a group of girls known as the Smuketeers. Would you like to tell me a bit about your friendship with these ladies? Who came up with the idea for the name and blog?
EB: Well, we’re a smutty bunch, so the name was a natural…Seriously, we’re four friends who all write smut: myself, R.G. Alexander, Crystal Jordan and Lilli Feisty. R.G. came up with the name. She found a website that talked about the psychological profiles of the four Musketeers, and realized that we each matched one of the profiles, so she decided to write a book about us. Originally, it was called ‘Smutketeers in Space’, but it’s now morphed into a Steampunk idea (waiting to be written), which is why our Smutketeers blog is Steampunk style.
We’re incredibly close and talk pretty much every day, even though we’re scattered all over the country and only see each other a few times a year. They’re all amazing writers and even more amazing friends, and we couldn’t live without each other.
FV: What’s next for you?
EB: Lots! Currently, I’m working on several projects: my second novel for Harlequin Spice (the first, THE LOVERS, will be out in January, 2011) and I’m doing final edits on SUMMER SOLSTICE, the third book in my Celestial Seductions series for Samhain. After that I’ll write my second book for Berkley Heat. I’m writing for them under a new pen name, Eve Berlin. The first Eve book, PLEASURE’S EDGE, comes out in October-a hot and romantic BDSM-themed book. Watch for Eve’s website to be launched in the next few weeks-it’s beautiful and I can’t wait to unveil it!
But my next release will be THE BREEDER, my part in the Smutketeers’ post-apocalyptic ‘Wasteland’ series. We’ve been working on these stories and this world for about a year, so we’re very excited! The series comes out in May, and we’ll be doing all sorts of fun promo for it in April and May, including some special events at the Romantic Times Convention. We just got a preview of the cover art, and it’s absolutely gorgeous! The artist, Kanaxa, did an incredible job, and she’s making us a downloadable wallpaper, a tapestry of all four covers-it’s going to be awesome!
Later in the year Book Two in my Midnight Playground series, BLOODSONG, will be out. It’s the follow-up to THE SEEKING KISS, the first dirty vampire story I’ve written in twenty years. I’ve been writing nothing but contemporaries until very recently, so the post-apocalyptic and my vampires have been a lot of fun!
At some point I will actually pause for a moment and breathe.
Thanks so much for having me today, Vixen!

Eden Bradley has generously offered 2 ebook copies of her novella Winter Solstice for giveaway.
Giveaway is open to everyone, I will announce the winner on March 14.
Winter Solstice is story of fated love. To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this post and tell me, are you a romantic at heart? Do you believe in fated love? Or is that the stuff fairy tales and romance novels are made of. (Either way it’s good stuff!)
Good luck to all who enter!
Nice interview
Hmmm…I don't believe in fated love. I think I am romantic though!
I am definitely a romantic at heart and love the idea of fated mates. I was lucky to meet mine, and the romantic in me likes to believe that there is someone special out there for everyone.
i'm a romantic at heart. hey thanks for introducing me to the Smutketeers blog!
I'm a total romantic at heart, and yeah, after meeting my hubby, I totally think there are special people meant just for us.
Great Interview! I love me some Eden
Yes I believe people are fated for one another. How can a girl who's read romance novels all her life believe otherwise. But that doesn't mean you're supposed to know who they are when they show up or have the sense to know that they're the person you're supposed to be with if you're smart enough to take the chance.
Well said Lynette!
I'm a romantic at heart…I do believe that fated love does exist…I'm not sure if it does for me though…I'm still standing single so we'll see…
I do believe in fated loves! but what makes it hard is that you never know who the one is so that doesn't rule out broken hearts and disappointment. I haven't found HIM yet, that's why I read romance
Uh I loved this interview, great job!! I do believe in fated love…I met my husb while in a terrible three year relationship with another. We met while working together, he would always smile, say the sweetest things to me and I would melt and blush like a school girl, until one day a group of co-workers including myself went out and what do you know, there he was…and I had just happend to go alone. And that was pretty much it for me. Destined to be together fo sho!
The setting for Spring Equinox is AMAZING! I'm putting all these in my TBR list.
A blog devoted to smut ::wipes away tear:: beautiful, just beautiful.
I want to want to believe in fated love ::looks around:: but no such luck. Sometimes I feel love gets put into your path, but if you don't take steps towards it, it will go bye bye.
awesome interview! and the Smuketeers…..priceless!!! I think i am a bit romantic at heart.i think i get more and more romantice the older i get! as in fate. i totally believe in fate. i believe everyone has their other half out there. If your lucky enough to find them, hold on for dear life! I believe i have found my other half…..though i can't truly say if it my good or bad half ! LOL
Thanks again for sharing Fiction Vixen and Eden!!!
I think there is someone out there who is your other half. I believe everyone has one. So, I definitely believe in true love.
I liked this post.
Well, since I fell in love with my hubby when we first met, I have to say I do believe in fated love. Maybe that's why I love romance novels??? Thanks for intoducing me to a new author I'm looking forward to reading!!!

I am a total romantic. Hopeless! That's why I love to read romance novels LOL…
I am not a romantic at all and I don't think fated love is for everyone but it is for some people like high school sweethearts and people who have know each other since they were kids and who've been married for 26 years (like my parents).

Worked all day yesterday, came home and immediately got a call from a girlfriend in crisis mode-we all met in West Hollywood for some comfort food and commiseration-so sorry I wasn't here yesterday! But I did have a strange and lovely dinner that included a tuna melt, a salad, and pancakes made with crumbled croissants, cinnamon rolls and vanilla cream, split with my girls.
Thanks so much for your comments, everyone! Glad some of you discovered Smutketeers-we have a great time there-I hope you'll all come by and visit again!
I am a definite romantic, and I do believe in love at first sight. I think it has to grow after that point, but there are some people you have that intense, special spark with.
Thanks again for having me, Vixen!
Great interview! Love, hot sex, and the hero's best friend – I'm in, LOL! Off to check out the Smutketeers…
Also, You've got an award over at my place
I am a romantic at heart. I love everything about romance. I am still waiting on my Prince Charming to sweep me off my feet and living happily ever after. I was given the book Cinderella on my 6th birthday and ever since I was hooked on fantasy. Of course I am retired and over 60 so I should admit I missed the boat and there is no romance for me. LOL

Great interview. I am a romantic at heart. I always hope that there is a HEA and that there is someone out there for everyone.

I don't believe in fate, so the idea of "fated love" is alien to me -there is no overarching purpose to human life unless the individual assigns their own purpose. No one else can do that, and there's no fate/god/etc. to do it for anyone.
That bit of slightly gloomy philosophy being said, I am a huge romantic. Since I believe that I make my own romance, and my boyfriend feels the same way, we rely on one another to create a romantic and loving relationship. We go out of our way to do sweet things for one another, and so far, that's worked really well. I am a sucker for a sweet romantic story.

Looks like a good book. I would love to believe in fated love but having been single forever I'm not sure if I can believe in it. I think I now believe love is only what you read in fairy tales or in books:)

I don't know much about love having never been hit by cupid's arrow so to speak lol But it's nice to believe in fated love and I guess I do, though I think there's more than one possible 'fated love' for us out there.

I'm a romantic at heart, though it's a side of me that not many people get to see. I don't know how much I believe in fated love, there are a whole lot of people in the world for there to just be one person meant for you.
