I am in the biggest reading slump that, in all of my history of reading, I can remember. I am never one to DNF a book. For some odd reason, when I start a book, even if it is terrible, I feel an obligation to finish it. That has not been the case lately. I have started and quit so many books. Probably 10? 15? It is almost like one chapter into a book I am groaning because I know that quickly I won’t be finishing it.
I don’t know what my problem is. Start of the baseball season? Hockey playoffs? Yes, I am a sports girl but these things have never interrupted my reading before. I wouldn’t say they have interrupted now but more given me something to do when I mindlessly flip through my kindle unable to find anything that catches my eye.
Audio books haven’t been an issue. I am rereading The Edge series by Ilona Andrews. Renee Raudman + Ilona Andrews = gold standard. Seriously, if you haven’t read/listened to that series, you need to do it. They are incredible.
But that doesn’t help me with my day to day reading and I am suffering from it. My reviews- or lack thereof- are suffering from it. I feel like my brain is going stagnant!
So I am going to bribe one of you to help me out with great hope it will work. Please, please, please pick one book you have read recently and absolutely loved. I am open to anything. All genres, sub-genres, lengths and widths. I will gift one of you with a book from Amazon- even if I don’t read your book, I greatly appreciate the suggestions and help.
