Kassa came up with a lovely idea: Write a fan letter to an author and let them know they are appreciated. She kindly organized a group of bloggers and created a schedule which you can see on Erotic Horizon’s blog if you click the graphic below. Yesterday Cecile over at All I Want And More had a lovely thank you post on her blog. Be sure to visit KatieBabs blog tomorrow to see which author she will thank. Today is my turn.
When I first sat down to write my letter I thought I’d pick an author off my list of many favorites and tap away at the keyboard. But then I realized, it wasn’t going to be that easy. There are so many writers who have entertained me, made me laugh, kept me on the edge of my seat or made me want to throw a book across the room with a crazy cliff hanger. So how to decide who to write my letter to today? It truly wasn’t easy but in the end I had to pick just one.
I chose an author who I discovered late last year that rocked my world with erotic romance. I wrote in my review of her book, Switch:
“[…] I will safely say Megan Hart has reset the bar in what I expect from an erotic romance.”
Dear Ms. Hart,
I discovered your wonderful work late last year and have been a fan every since I read your novel, Switch. I didn’t know exactly what to expect from Switch as you were a ‘new to me’ author, but the blurb and cover appealed to me so I gave it a go. One chapter in and I knew I was reading something very special. You moved me and made me want to grab up another Megan Hart novel as soon as possible. So far I’ve read five of your books and I intend to work my way through every one I can get my hands on. I admit that I do have to take a break between books as your stories move me in ways I had never thought a romance novel could.
You write such emotionally complicated, deeply moving stories and I believe you are in a class by yourself when it comes to contemporary, erotic romance. You write about heroines that are far from perfect, and as you take me on their emotional journeys I grit my teeth, I occasionally cry, and I always celebrate in their joys. When it comes to addressing sensuality and sexuality in relationships, you reign supreme. I love that your heroines are in charge of their own orgasms. They are unashamed of their sexuality and take their pleasure when and where they choose. Your stories are thoughtful and provocative, and you never fail to take me a little further than I was prepared to go. Although your stories sometimes address topics that I tend to shy away from in contemporary romance, I have learned to trust that you will handle these topics with finesse and grace, yet you will still capture the raw emotional impact that comes with these very real human emotions.
Each time I pick up one of your books, I experience a certain amount of excitement mixed with just a touch of apprehension because I know you will ‘take me there’ but I will like it (love it). I know before I even begin that I am in for a treat and I will savor every word to it’s fullest.
Thank you Megan Hart for sharing your amazing talent.
Fondly,
FV
My favorite Megan Hart Novels (so far):
- Dirty
- Broken
- Stranger
I’m currently reading Deeper, then looking forward to reading Tempted and eagerly awaiting the release of Naked.

Great initiative and fun new feature! I will visit now all the other blogs and see who they chose to thank. Nice letter!
What a wonderful letter FV!
I must admit I haven't read much of Megan Hart. I only read her to collaborative erotic romances with Lauren Dane (Taking Care of Business and No Reservations). Liked them a lot but they are of a different emotional level compared to her other novels and that's what I'm afraid of. Have heard her book make even the most hardened readers cry and let's just say I am not a hardened reader…*cough*hugewhimp*cough*
Stella–thank you, this has been a fun feature. I've learned about so many authors.
Pearl–every single one of Megan Harts books have made me cry. She is an amazing writer and I get so emotionally invested in her characters it's insane. LOL
I read Dirty and Stranger and they are two of my favorite books – definitely "keeper shelf"! Wonderful letter!
Patti–you must read Broken. You must! That's my favorite MH book.
I am stunned and moved to be the recipient of another blog fan letter, and such lovely words. Thank you, FV! Thank you, thank you.
M
omg. omg. Just wow.
)
What a lovely letter! I've read everything this author has done and boy can she write some hot erotica. It's always edgy too and thought provoking, which makes for the best kinds IMO.
I'm not always comfortable reading her books but I love that.
Thanks for participating and I think several new readers have discovered the great Ms. Hart!
Ok this is the 3rd time I'm trying to comment. It keeps telling me I don't own my wordpress name… which is funny cause I totally do. Anyway.
Megan Hart is totally my favorite author. She writes such compelling stories and deep characters. Like you said, she's unafraid to "go there" and push you further than you ever thought you could go.
"Broken" was my first MH book, and I was hooked from the first sentence. I haven't looked back, since. She's an amazing author and I love to pimp her books out to my friends. I'm such a Megan Hart fangirl.=)
MamaKitty
Aw lovely!
And I had a good laugh seeing the Zsadist and Trhixie button on the side.

Kassa–Yes, Megan Hart does not skimp on the sexy times. Her books are amazing!

Dude Megan Hart just commented on your blog *puts on OMG face*
FV I'm going to do it…I'm going to read Megan Hart!!!
KC–I KNOW! I'm seriously trying to control my inner fan*girl but dammit, it's not easy. I should never be allowed to meet MH, I'd just embarrass myself.
I'm tellin' ya, read Dirty and Broken. You will not be sorry. Read her other stuff too but don't miss Dirty and Broken.
I remember reading Dirty, and what an amazing and moving story it was. I completely loved it. Megan Hart is such a talented writer, and this book is exemplary. There's no other author out there who writes such complex, profound stories that I've come across – she is in a category all her own. I love knowing other readers feel the same
Reading these fan letters has been a lot of fun, and I'm glad to be reading your blog. Fun place!

For those of you that have not tried her, I URGE you, I IMPLORE you ~ pick up her book. I promise, even though you may cry *I not promising you won't* it will be worth the tears, I promise. Wonderful letter, FV. It's obvious this author has really struck a chord with you. Always a good thing.
