The Eagerly Anticipating post is back in my hands. Many thanks to Sophia for doing it last month! It looks like I have a nicely rounded set of romance releases to look forward to this month. Sometimes it seems like my anticipated books lean heavily toward a specific sub genre (usually PNR or UF) but this month I have a lot to look forward to in many different sub genres. I always prefer it that way. 😉 What are you all looking forward to this coming month?
*Scheduled for release August 7th*
Biting Cold by Chloe Neill – Ah, the good old Chicagoland Vampires. I’ve been nervous to read this (and the last) book, but Sophia tells me that it left her feeling hopeful. I’m going to have to bite the bullet and read this when it comes out, if only so I can debate the book with Sophia.
Hell on Wheels by Julie Ann Walker – I haven’t read this author before but this book caught my eye when I saw that the heroine is the sister of the hero’s best friend. I’m a sucker for that trope!
Precinct 13 by Tate Hallaway – This one sounds pretty interesting. I’m a wee bit nervous since the summary read like the heroine is on the young side, but I’ll probably give it a shot anyway. Hopefully she reads older than what my imagination has put her at.
Stygian’s Honor by Lora Leigh – *sigh* This series is my guilty pleasure. I love it despite the fact that I echo many of the gripes I’ve heard others make. The last couple have been a bit ‘meh’ for me so I’m hoping this one kicks it back in gear.
Two Weeks’ Notice by Rachel Caine – The first book in this series, Working Stiff, really caught my attention. It was different and kind of gross (zombies are not my thing) and I loved it! I am still amazed at how different this series feels compared to Caine’s Weather Warden and Outcast Season series. The author really managed to shake things up and surprise me. I can’t wait to see where this book takes the series.
*Scheduled for release August 21st*
Widow’s Web by Jennifer Estep – Who doesn’t love a good dose of Gin? I have fallen a bit behind in this series thanks to being busy with life but I can’t wait to catch back up and see more of this cast.
*Scheduled for release August 28th*
A Dangerous Liaison with Detective Lewis by Jillian Stone – A second-chance-romance, yay! Add that to the hero and heroine being from the working class and I’m there. 😉
A Lady by Midnight by Tessa Dare – I sooo want to get my hands on this book. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, A Night to Surrender, and adored the second book, A Week to be Wicked. I am having awesome luck with this series and am expecting great things from this one!
The Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James – I am having such fun with this series. James has such an engaging voice with great characters. I always have fun when I pick up a book by her and love that I’m guaranteed not to find a delicate flower masquerading as the heroine.
Wrayth by Philippa Ballantine – I can’t wait to get my hands on this book. I have really, really enjoyed the last two books, Geist and Spectyr. When the last book ended I cringed to know that I had to wait so long to read the next book. Thank goodness the wait is finally over!
