Eagerly Anticipating September Releases!

September has many great Romance and Urban Fantasy releases to look forward to. Here are just a few we’re looking forward to in September.

*Scheduled for release September 4th*

How To Drive A Dragon Crazy by G.A. Aiken – OMG, I can’t wait for this book. Izzy and Éibhear have been built up since book two and I am practically foaming at the mouth at the thought of finally getting to read their story. I strongly recommend stepping aside if you see me in the bookstore on release day. I will go through you to get this book. ;)

Riveted by Meljean Brook – This is the third book in the Iron Seas series, and it’s getting great early reviews, as have the previous books. If you know anything about me, you will know that Meljean Brook is one of my favorite authors. I am very excited for this release.*Review coming soon*

Archangel’s Storm by Nalini Singh – Oh how I love this series, let me count the ways. I love Elena and Raphael, and can’t wait to get another book where they’re the main characters, but I love getting to read about Raphael’s Seven too. Who’s excited to read about Jason? *Review coming soon!*

The Last Renegade by Jo Goodman – I am a Goodman fan of old. I love the way she always manages to surprise me and the way she writes such subtle, natural emotions for her characters. The main characters never think to themselves, “I’m in love,” the reader just knows they are because their actions show it so well. I love that. I might have to fight Sophia for this one. You all know what a sucker she is for cowboy romances. :) *Review coming soon*

Kiss of Steel by Bec McMaster – *Sigh* I’m such a sucker for Steampunk. The covers always catch my eye. I’m not alone, though. Sophia loves this cover too.

Impulse by Moira Rogers – I had never read this author until Sophia recommended her. I’m really glad I took her up on that rec because I would have been sorely missing out if I would have skipped trying her. I’ve really grown to love this series and always look forward to the new releases. *Review coming soon*

Playing To Win by Jaci Burton – I have never tried this author, but I’ve seen the covers for this series everywhere. I’m finally going to take the plunge and try her out. *Review coming soon*

*Scheduled for release September 25th*

Dark Light of Day by Jill Archer – I haven’t read this author, but the first line the the blurb grabbed me attention: Armageddon is over.

Alice in Zombieland by Gena ShowalterShowalter and zombies? Okay, okay, you’ve convinced me. ;)

What will you be filling up your cart with in September?

Do you like Kiss of Steel, aside from steampunk factor because Paul Marron is on it? :D
I can’t wait for Archangel’s Storm!! And the next book is back to Raphael-Elena again, yay!

Is that him? I’m so bad at recognizing cover models.

I’ve heard that! I’m so excited to get to revisit them. I love them together.

In addition to Archangel’s Storm & Riveted (I’m a rabid Meljean Brook fangirl because of you!) I’m also looking forward to:

The Space Between Us~Megan Hart (ADORE HER)
    Full-Blooded~Amanda Carlson
    Unspoken~Sarah Rees Breenan
    Monstrous Beauty~Elizabeth Fama
    Ten~Gretchen McNeil
    The Raven Boys~Maggie Stiefvater

I was interested in Alice in Zombieland (after all, I lob teh zombehs!) until I read a few truly horrific stat updates from friends. Now it seems like AiZ be one big fat disappointment for me. =(

I was happy when you finally succumbed to my relentless gentle prods to try her out. :) Are you excited about Michael’s book next year? I can’t wait!

Uh oh. What kind of horrific updates? I’m not much of a YA fan, so I was a bit iffy, and you know I think the zombie thing is kind of skeezy, but I like Showalter

I think I did see it on Netgalley yesterday. I haven’t read any Megan Hart, but I’ve heard good things.

Yeah, it’s on NG. I’m auto-approved for HQN so I received it the day it was posted. I’m planning on reading it towards the end of August. I’m utterly in love with Megan Hart’s books but I admit, I’m a little apprehensive of this one. Based on the blurb, heroine seems to be a lesbian or at least bisexual. I’ve never read a f/f romance before, but if anyone can make it work for me, it’s Hart.

@ Catherine: I NOES! Showalter is the best! But I’ve read her YA’s before and while they succeed in creativity & innovation, they tend to lack in execution.

  3. Tabitha says

Ah, Izzy and Eibhear! I can’t wait for their story!!

I might also pick up Delusion in Death by J.D. Robb.

I have really, really high hopes. The buildup has been excellent so far.

I’m still relatively early in the In Death series, so I have quite a ways to go before I can look forward to a new release. lol.

I’m looking forward to Archangel’s Storm and Rapture by JR Ward…. and the new Shannon Stacey, All He Ever Needed, Kowalski Family #4. Shannon Stacey writes the best contemporaries.

Riveted is my favorite book of the year. <3 I feel like a broken record because I keep saying that, but it's TRUE. I was so emotionally invested in the hero & heroine that by the end of the book, I couldn't even read the epilogue straight on. It kept making me cry, so then I'd stop. Then I'd try again and finally I just skimmed it out of like, one eye. (Seriously. I loved that book SO. MUCH.)
