Book Covers: We Have Wings, Nips and Abs!

How To Drive A Dragon Crazy

Finally we have a cover for How To Drive A Dragon Crazy! Squee! The cover isn’t particularly special, I know, but what it represents is. It means we are that much closer to getting G.A. Aiken’s new book. I can’t wait for Éibhear and Izzy’s story!

Mortal Ties

Oh man, I am loving this cover. I am a huge fan of Eileen Wilks and get excited about the thought of any new release in the World of the Lupi series. If you haven’t read this series yet, why not? ;) I wouldn’t recommend starting with Mortal Ties, but it’s worth it to start at the beginning and work your way up. Lily and Rule are awesome.

The Peculiars

The Peculiars by Maureen Doyle McQuerry is a new Young Adult Steampunk novel. I am intrigued by the cover art. Wings and gears rolled into one story? Very interesting.

*****

Once Burned

The cover for Once Burned has already been around for a bit, but I haven’t mentioned it yet, so you get to see it anyway. ;) Jeaniene Frost’s new book should be hitting shelves in June and I am excited. I gave up on Cat and Bones a while ago, but I’ve always loved Vlad.

*****

Archangel's Storm

Man, this series always has the best covers. Soooo lovely and striking. I have been hoping Nalini Singh would focus on Jason sooner rather than later, and it looks like I’ll get my wish. I can’t wait for the release of Archangel’s Storm.

Howl For It

Howl For It is an anthology featuring Shelly Laurenston and Cynthia Eden. You can’t beat that pairing! Based on the authors, I have to assume readers of this book will be in for some good humor. :)

*****

Archangel of Mercy

Christina Ashcroft
did good for this book. That’s a nice cover. What can I say? I’m a sucker for wings. ;) I’m surprised to see that Archangel of Mercy already has a cover since it doesn’t release until December, but I guess it’s to our benefit that it came out early. I’m intrigued by the book blurb and will probably pick this up when it comes out.

Soul Trade

Soul Trade
by Caitlin Kittredge is the fifth book in the Black London series. I really like the covers for this series. They have an air of grit to them that I enjoy. I keep meaning to try this series out, but I’m lazy and haven’t so far. One day, though.

Gunmetal Magic

Oh! This just in! Ilona Andrews revealed this cover for Gunmetal Magic today. (Thanks to Mandi for the heads up) This is Andrea and Raphael’s novella from the Kate Daniels series. Raise your hand if you’re excited! *me*

Thanks for the covers! Love seeing these, although it reminds me of how far behind I am in my reading to get to these books!

Count me in as another who loves the Black London series. Extremely gritty and dark, and dare I say ‘unlikeable’ characters that I still care deeply about.

I thought I was the only one who gave up on Cat and Bones. I am, however, also looking forward to Vlad’s book. I’ve enjoyed all of her spinoffs so far.

Why is it that steampunk covers always draw me in? Even if I don’t want to read the story, I end up doing so because of those darn covers.

No, you are not alone. I had to give them up. Destined For An Early Grave was the last one I read.

Another vote for the Black London series? Sweet! I’m excited by all the mentions of it being dark.

I am the same way about Steampunk covers. I like them. :)

Another Cover Lover post! *Lethal claps in glee* Okay, loving the “Mortal Ties” cover-although they gave my girl Lily a big ass forehead. =( Also loving the covers for “Once Burned” (I would do bad things to Vlad regardless of his cover) & “Archangel’s Storm”. The Black London cover looks as stupid as they usually do for that series. I want to like the “Gunmetal Magic” cover but I can’t. That is just not how I pictured the much loathed Andrea in my head. *tear*

Some really great covers up there! Some for series I adore, and some for series I still have to start reading. But a great cover sure is a good incentive to pick them up.
