Around The Blogosphere UF Style

Because it’s Saturday and I like pizza, I thought I’d share a few goodies I’ve run across while surfing the bookish blogosphere recently.  What this post has to do with me liking pizza I don’t know, I just thought I’d mention it.  You know, so you know. Here we go…

Fans of the Southern Arcana series will be thrilled to know that Bree and Donna, the geniuses behind the pen name Moira Rogers, have posted a deleted scene, Math of Mating, from Crossroads.  I, being a big fan of the series, was thrilled the ladies threw this puppy a little bone.  I blew through Crossroads way too fast and now I’m anxious for more.  Deleted scenes will have to do until Deadlock is ready for the world.

Also, since where talking about Crossroads, Lillie over at I Don’t Want To Wait, I Want The Book Now interviewed Nick and Derek from Crossroads.  They are such a snarky but completely loveable couple. I should have them over for dinner sometime. On second thought maybe not, trouble seems to follow those Southern Arcana shifters everywhere they go. We’ll see.

For all you Urban Fantasy fanatics, be sure to stop by All Things Urban Fantasy for a very nice list of urban fantasy giveaways.  If you’re not an Urban Fantasy fanatic why not?  Just kidding.  I’m not.  Go ahead and swing by, click some links, win a book and see what you’ve been missing. :)

Ever wonder what goes on the brain of Keith Melton, author of Blood Vice?  Me neither, way too scary for a mere mortal such as myself.  But if you are curious about the diabolical musings of a mad writer (ok I might be exaggerating just a bit) stop over at Book Lovers Inc., read the interview and comment for a chance to win a copy of Blood Vice. I’ve heard it’s good. I have copy on my Kindle awaiting my attention. Oh and you really need to follow Keith on twitter. He’s a good tweet.  @KeithMelton99 Be sure to tell him @fictionvxn and Phrank sent you. Trust me on this.

Here’s another one for your Urban Fantasy lovers.  Rachel Vincent has posted a mini-excerpt on her blog from Shift, the 5th book in her Shifters series.  I’m reading this book right now and let me tell you, you will want to read this book. It’s one of those books you think about even when you’re not reading. Good stuff. Head on over for a little teaser.

And finally, a little cover candy for you:

Shadow Bound by Erin Kellison

Coming July 2010

Death

Some people will do anything to avoid it. Even trade their immortal souls for endless existence.

Wraiths

Secretly, inexorably, they are infiltrating our world, sucking the essence out of unsuspecting victims with their hideous parody of a kiss.

Segue

Adam Thorne founded the Institute to study and destroy his monster of a brother, but the key to its success is held in the pale, slender hand of a woman on the run. There is something hauntingly different about Talia O’Brien, her unknowing sensuality, her uncanny way of slipping into Shadow.

Twilight

This is the place between life and what comes after – a dark forest of fantasy, filled with beauty, peril, mystery. And Talia is about to open the door.

This one is a ways off yet but it’s on my wish list!

Ok so that’s all folks.  What’s new and exciting in your Google reader, Bloglines, Feedburner or however you keep track of your favorite bookish blogs?

PS-I was serious about the pizza. Please send pizza. Thank you.

  4. hmmm pizza, I love pizza but pizza doesn't love me. Pizza likes to make my arse fat. Keith's tweet's are never boring that's for sure, I believe on Friday he mentioned he was drinking coffee from a straw…via a soda can….

Thanks a lot! Now I want pizza *gives FV evil eye*

  5. I could eat pizza every day..no lie. It makes the hubs roll his eyes when he asks what I want for dinner.

I'm starting Shift soon..but I've never read any of the previous books, have you?

*whispers* don't tell anyone hubs and I are on vacation and sitting in our hotel room on our laptops. We are dorks. I'm sweating because I have a glass of wine sitting next to my keyboard. You know how it goes with liquid and computers for me. Hubs is being very trusting. ;)

  6. I need to start the Southern Arcana series. And pizza, well thankfully my two kids love it as much as me because we have it at least twice a week.

  7. SHB-Eat pizza, do it now. Who cares about arse fat when you have a cheesy peperoni?

Mandi-I could eat pizza everyday too. I love that stuff. Love it! You are going to like Shift! I didn't read the other books and I'm having no trouble at all. I kinda do want to go back and read the others though. I think I'll like the series. The love triangle is killing me though. I'm afraid of how it's going to end *sob*

Tricia-Do read the SA series. I liked Crux but loved Crossroads. I can't wait for Alec's story (Deadlock)

  8. Thanks for the shout out!

  9. Trying this again… except my first comment was really boring and mostly said I really want a pizza. :D Now I really want a pizza and for blogger to let me leave comments!

  10. I can't believe you and Mandi haven't read Rachel Vincent before. Shame on you! Marc is sooo very yummy. Jace…. *mmmm* I have high hopes for his alphaness lol

  11. Sending a slice of pizza with extra cheese your way… right now! (good thing I have this power of teleporting, so we can avoid the fungi Leontine's pizza is suffering from ;) ).

I'm starting Shift as well, very soon… and I haven't read Rachel Vincent before either. Sorry Kindle Vixen ;) … can't wait to find out more about Marc and Jace…

  12. HA! I saw that. At least I haven't been *banned* from the J.R. Ward forums like a certain FictionVixen. O_O

    Phrank sends his regards.
